    Robert E. Hanagan, age 78, of Appleton, died Friday, August 10, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center following a short illness.
    The Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 13th at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 S. State St., Appleton, with Fr. Michael O'Rourke officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel from 4-7:00 p.m. Sunday and then directly at the church from 10:00 a.m. Monday until the time of the service. The parish prayer service will be held at 6:45 p.m. Sunday. A memorial fund has been established.

    Hanagan, Robert E.
    Robert E. Hanagan, age 78, of Appleton, died Friday, August 10, 2007, at Appleton Medical Center following a short illness. Bob was born June 5, 1929, in Kaukauna, the son of the late Cornelia (VanStippen) Hanagan-Meyer and Edward Hanagan. On November 23, 1948, Bob was united in marriage to Marian Miller, enjoying almost 59 years together. Bob was employed as a truck driver at Elm Tree Bakery, Rich's Products, and Laser Trucking until his retirement in 1991. Bob loved his family and his many wonderful friends. He enjoyed golfing, the Green Bay Packers, and most recently fishing. Following his retirement he enjoyed working at the Salvation Army.
    Survivors include his loving wife Marian; four children Gary (Christy) Hanagan of Bloomington, MN, Dennis (Lee) Hanagan, Cindy Hanagan, and Connie (Paul) Ebben, all of Appleton; seven grandchildren Laura and Eric Hanagan, Sara (Eric) Esser, Lisa Hanagan, Jessica (Tony) Austin, Alison and Julia Ebben; three great-grandchildren Kyla, Eric Jr, and Marissa; two brothers Kenneth (Mary) Hanagan of Appleton and Clifford (Lois) Hanagan of Kaukauna; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Kosmas (Helen) Miller of Janesville, Sr. Cosmas Miller of Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, Gertrude Sadowski of Manitowoc, Catherine (Clayton) Baeten of Kaukauna, Agnes Miller of Whitelaw, and Doris Miller of Brillion; a special friend Mary Kleuskens of De Pere and many nieces and nephews.
    In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by father-in-law and mother-in-law Cosmas and Caroline Miller, in-laws Lawrence and Anna Miller, Norbert and Gertrude Miller, Vincent Miller, Philip and LaVerne Miller, Caroline and Ray Lang, Bill and Josephine Schuh, Ottilia and Edward Schuh, Alex and Marcella Fischer, Simon Sadowski, and Carl Miller.

    Obituary:
    Clifford E. Hanagan, age 76, born on March 4, 1932 ,and died at home on June 28, 2008, from the complications of surgery, surrounded by his loving family. He is the son of the late Cornelia and Edward Hanagan. On December 1, 1951, Cliff was united in marriage to Lois Smith and together they celebrated 56 years of married life. Cliff worked for 32 years at Rich's Bakery as an over the road truck driver. He was a good provider. He played baseball for years and was a very good and well known pitcher. Cliff also drove stock cars (#42), golfed, and enjoyed watching Nascar races as well as the Green Bay Packers. In his later years his greatest enjoyment was watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren having fun at the cottage.
    He is survived by his wife Lois; his children: Debbie (Jim) Stolla, Carrie (Ziggy) Koeller, Jay (Trina), Lee (Roni), and Cal; a daughter -in-law Monica; 12 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers-in-law: Joseph, Robert, and Gerald (Paulette); sisters-in-law: Alice Smith, Marian and Mary Hanagan. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
    Preceding him in death were his parents, his son Guy, two brothers: Robert and Ken; four brothers-in-law: George, Jim, Eugene, and Herbert Smith; a sister-in-law Janet Smith and a grand daughter Kelsey Hanagan.
    Funeral services for Cliff will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, 2008, at the BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, 920-766-2099. Father Jerry Pastors will officiate. Interment will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in Kaukauna. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 4 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Clifford's name is being established.

    Gerald L. Van Stippen, age 70, passed away at his home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, March 29, 2016. He was born on January 5, 1946 in Appleton to the late Henry and Louise (Raab) Van Stippen.
    Gerald was enlisted to the U.S. Army on August 13, 1968 and proudly served a year and a half of active duty before his honorable discharge on August 18, 1970. He then met the love of his life, Paula Kluba. They were married on October 1, 1976 in Marquette, Michigan. Together they were blessed with their two children, Marissa and Gerald Jr.
    Hunting and Fishing where Gerald's favorite past times. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends; and especially teaching his grandchildren to hunt. A few of his favorite fishing places where off of the Winneconne Bridge and Lake Winnebago. As much as he enjoyed to hunt and fish nothing was as important as family to Gerald. The light of his life were his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He made special bonds with each and every one of them and always was quick with a nickname for each.
    Gerald is survived by his loving wife, Paula; her two children, Marissa (Don) Stankevitz and Gerald Jr. "Carp" (Brenda) Van Stippen; his six grandchildren, Shayla "Mouse" (Dakota) Van Stippen-Hall, Jaymin "Freddie the Freeloader" Van Stippen, Taylor Stankevitz, Shylynn "Sweet Pea" Van Stippen, Jessica "Porkie" Stankevitz and Logan "Bud" Van Stippen; his three great-grandchildren, Chance "Farmer" Van Stippen, Caydence "Peanut" Van Stippen and Nicholas Stankevitz. He is further survived by three brothers , Donald (Donna) Van Stippen, Robert (Margaret) Van Stippen and Henry (Wendy) Van Stippen; three sisters, Shirley (Richard) Procknow, Ruth Ann (Francis) Schiltz and Mary Lou (George) Vander Linden and his sister-in-law, Linda Van Stippen as well as many nieces, nephews and other dear relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Gerald was preceded in death by his infant daughter, Jessica Jay; his brother, Wayne and his in-laws, George and Olive Kluba.
    The funeral liturgy will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 12:00 p.m. at SACRED HEART CATHOCLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street, Appleton. Visitation will take place on Friday, April 1, 2016 at the church starting at 3:00 p.m. and ending at 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service. Visitation will continue on Saturday starting at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral mass at noon. Military honors will follow the service.     Joe "Scoot" Van Stippen, age 66, passed away on Saturday evening, March 27, 2010, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Joe was born in Appleton on May 1, 1943, son of the late Joseph and Mary (Hottenstine) Van Stippen. Scoot was employed for a time by Fox River Paper, and also worked for the City of Appleton Sanitation Department. Scoot had a great love for music and spent hours making tapes and CDs. He also enjoyed following the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bears, NASCAR, fishing, playing bingo, the company of his dog Snooky, and golf. In 2007, Scoot shot a hole-in-one at the New London Country Club.
    He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years: Sheela (nee Kuse) Van Stippen of Appleton; three children: Lisa (Tom) Schommer of Appleton and their daughters Nicole, Melanie and Michelle; Joe (Mary) Van Stippen of Menasha and their children Amanda, Ryne and Aaron; and Gweneth (Kyle) Moran of Appleton and baby Jacob, who is due to arrive in June; his former wife: Mary Van Stippen of Greenville; two sisters: Pam (Terry) Timm of Neenah and Dianne (Tim) Christenson of Grand Chute; two sisters-in-law: Belinda (Ron) Hogan of Shawano and Debbie Kuse of Neenah; a brother-in-law: David (Terry) Kuse of Appleton, and a dear family friend: Shirley Herrick of Grand Chute; and his mother-in-law: Gweneth Kuse of Appleton. He traveled on many trips, mostly sout h, as he was always cold from the chemo. The last years, his favorite past -time was riding his Harley with his Monica on the back.
