    Jennie Marie Hoppe, age 88, of Appleton, passed away on Sunday, September 15, 2013 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau. She was born on January 5, 1925, in Appleton, the daughter of the late Jack and Wilhelmina (Jonas) Jury. On November 21, 1942, Jennie Marie married Earl Hoppe at the Appleton Gospel Temple. Jennie was an accomplished musician with an extraordinary ear for music. She loved playing the piano, and her family loved to listen to her music. Jennie's music career started as a child with WLS, the Chicago Radio Station; the Appleton Recreation Department Dance Program; piano teacher in the Appleton area; and church organist throughout her life, recently participating at Guyton UMC in Georgia. Jennie was a great seamstress, making many of the outfits for her daughters to wear to school. She loved doing word puzzles, spending time with family and friends playing sheepshead, and she would never pass up a game of Yahtzee. Jennie loved golfing in her earlier years. She always had a passion for the outdoors; spending time at the cabins at Spencer Lake, Mount Morris, and Wausaukee. She was a faithful member of the United Methodist Church.
    Jennie Marie is survived by her three children: Sally (Dave) Flegner of Watertown; Jody (Robb) Campbell of Rincon, Georgia; and Jack Hoppe of Seymour; nine grandchildren: Jason (Emmy) Flegner, Catherine (Josh) Fye, Joseph (Susan) Flegner; Robert (Marisol) Campbell, Andrew (Yecenia) Campbell, John Campbell, Jacquelyn (Brendan) Horgan; Jessica (Jesse) Peeters and Nicki Hoppe; eleven great grandchildren and her many canine companions over the years, recently Princess. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Hoppe.
    The funeral service for Jennie Marie will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at the Wichmann Funeral Home downtown chapel. Rev. Mark Klaisner will be officiating. A visitation will be held from 9:30 am until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Appleton City Band are appreciated. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
