Obituary:
Theresia E. Helmrath "Tress," age 101, Suring, died Sunday June 28, 2009. She was born in Wausau on December 28, 1907, to the late John and Mary (Mader) Zinser. Tress married John Helmrath, and the family owned and operated a bakery in Denmark, WI. Later, they both retired from Johnson Control in Milwaukee and moved to Chute Pond. Tress cooked at Camp U-Nah-Li-Ya for many years. She was a very active member at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Suring, and her favorite pastime was attending card parties.
She is survived by her son, Paul (Ione) Helmrath of Appleton; 6 grandchildren, Michael, Christopher, Mary, Maria, David, and special grandson John (Cindy) Helmrath of Strasburg, Colorado.
She was preceded in death by her Husband, John on February 28, 1982; her daughter, Marguerita Hurl; two sisters, Julie, and Mary, also a very special longtime companion, Lyle Fisher on November 6, 2001.
Visitation will be held at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Suring on Wednesday July 1, 2009, from 9 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. with Father Paul Schumacher officiating. Burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
