He enjoyed bowling, golf, playing his electric Hawaiian guitar, fermenting his own wine and especially spending time with his loving wife and children swimming, playing volleyball, croquet and other family activities. Walter was known by many for his cheerful smile and big hugs. He was a very devout Catholic and was grateful for all his blessings. The family would like to thank the staffs at St. Mary's Hospital and Unity Hospice for their sensitivity, guidance and support.
    Dear God,
We look to You with gratitude,
    for making Walter our Dad.
You gave him arms to hold us,
when we felt alone or sad.
    You made him conscientious,
to provide for us to live.
    You gave our Dad compassion,
which taught us how to give.
His smile was there each morning,
to send us on our way.
His back was tough to carry all,
the stress that came each day.
His hand was firm, yet gentle,
to teach us right from wrong.
His faith was strong to guide us,
on Your path now that he's gone.
His heart, which filled us full of love,
that we may share with others.
But most of all, You helped him find,
    our precious, loving Mother.
So, 'Thank You' Lord for giving us,
    the best we could've had.
We are forever grateful to You,
    for making Walter our Dad.
