    On Friday March 1, 2013, a golden heart stopped beating when Merlin Joseph Krautkramer Sr. went home to the Lord after an almost one year battle with cancer. He was born on May 28, 1935, in Green Bay, to Raymond and Cecelia (Ambrosius) Krautkramer.
    On September 28, 1957, he married Marion Vannieuwenhoven. They celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary on September 28, 2012. Merlin worked for Packerland Packing, Lov-it-Butter, Y.M.C.A., and Building Services Group in Little Chute. In 2009, he founded and was owner of I Care Lawn Care. He was an avid Packer and Nascar fan. Merlin was a member of St. Jude Parish
    Merlin is survived by his wife, Marion; three children, Mary Elsinger, Merlin Krautkramer Jr., Marlene (Dean) Krause; four grandchildren, Bethany (Kaleb) Cieslewicz, Matthew Krause and his fiance, Jenn Hartwell , Sara Krautkramer, Eric Krautkramer; three great-grandchildren, Jacob, Faith, and Anna Cieslewicz; a sister, Jean Stuewer; two sisters-in-law, Gen Andrews, Elaine (John) Wilson; a brother-in-law, Gene (Mary) Vannieuwenhoven; two aunts, Gladys and Helen Ambrosius; one uncle, Harold Ambrosius; two Godchildren, David Andrews and Christine Jetton Behnke; numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Cecilia Krautkramer; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Viola Vannieuwenhoven; four brothers-in-law, Lawrence Vannieuwenhoven, Joseph Andrews, Vernon Andrews, Ordwin Stuewer; three sisters-in-law, Louise Andrews, Carol Vannieuwenhoven and Marge Hoppa.
    Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave, on Tuesday March 5, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. A parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Wednesday March 6, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. until the time the procession leaves for church. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Jude Catholic Church, 1420 Division St, at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday with the Rev. Donald Everts officiating. Entombment will follow at Fort Howard Memorial Park.

    Merlin's wife and family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses and staffs at St. Vincent hospital, St. Mary's Hospital and Golden Living Center for all of their care. Most of all, they would like to thank all of the nurses, nurses aids and pastoral care at Unity Hospice for their wonderful care. "They were always there for us when we needed them".
