    Jean Santkuyl, age 87, formerly of Kimberly, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at St. Paul Villa. She was born on July 28, 1924 in Appleton, the daughter of the late Charles and Leona (Storm) Thompson. On September 13, 1947, Jean married Joseph Santkuyl. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish in Kimberly. Jean was well known for her beautiful needlework.
    She is survived by her children: Linda (Steve) Burkart, Eau Claire; David (Pat), Keshena; Dennis (Sue), Freedom; Kay (Mark) Hagens, Kimberly; Wayne, Appleton; Jo Ann (Rob) Dunlop, Menasha; Keith "Vinnie" (Terryl), Kaukauna; Gary (Wendy), Appleton; Lee, Milwaukee and Dale (Liesl), Tacoma, Washington; grandchildren: Sara (Gabor) Bach; Angie (Chad) Johnson, Valerie Santkuyl and Richard (Paloma) Santkuyl; Mike Dunlop; Theron Tracanna, Jillian (Michael) Blout, Monica (Tyler) Riske and Bryan (Brittany) Santkuyl; Eli and Zane Santkuyl; great-grandchildren: twins Sofia and Lidia, Mia, Elizabeth, Samuel, Alaina plus two on the way; brothers: Jack (Cleo) Thompson, Bob (Barb) Thompson and Guy (Erma) Thompson; sisters-in-law: Delores Thompson, Christine (Bob) Biechler, Delores (Bill) Caraker, Pat Santkuyl and Joan Santkuyl. Jean is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Santkuyl; son-in-law, Roger Jackson; brother, Glenn Thompson; brothers-in-law, Art Santkuyl, Norbert Santkuyl and Bernie Smith.
    The funeral liturgy for Jean will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, September 9, 2011 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH, KIMBERLY, 600 E. Kimberly Avenue. Fr. David Beaudry will be officiating. Inurnment will take place at Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, King. The family will receive relatives and friends at the church from 10:00 am until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the American Diabetes Association are appreciated.
    The family extends their sincere appreciation to the staff at St. Paul Villa. Jean really enjoyed her home away from home the last five years.

    Thompson, Glenn William Joseph
    Glenn W.J. Thompson, age 82, passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009, at Brewster Village in Appleton. He was born on April 22, 1927, in Appleton; son of the late Charles and Leone "Lee" (Storm) Thompson. On June 10, 1950, he was united in marriage to Delores Dorschner at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Appleton. Glenn left Appleton West H.S. at age 17 to serve his country with the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1946. In 2001, he was issued his high school diploma from the Appleton Board of Education as well as a commendation for serving his country. Glenn worked for Riverside Paper for 42 years, where he also served as a union president and retired in 1989. He served as an Alderman for 16 years and a County Supervisor for an additional 16 years, he also ran for mayor and state assembly and was a kindergarten grandpa at Clovis Grove School.
    Glenn is survived by his wife, Delores Thompson, Appleton; son, Charles (Linda) Thompson, Menasha; daughter, Kathy (Steve) Buss, Shiocton; grandchildren: Jessica (Adam) Vishy, Hazelwood, MO; Matt Thompson, New York, NY; Andy Buss, Waterloo, NY; Eric Buss, Shiocton; sister, Jean Santkuyl; brothers: Jack (Cleo) Thompson, Bob (Barbara) Thompson and Guy (Erma) Thompson; sisters and brothers-in-law, Jackie Draheim, Shirley (Marlin) Brown, Darrell Dorschner, Sarah (Paul) Laubenstein, Terry (Mary) Dorschner and Sandy (Ken) Carew.
    Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and brothers-in-law: Joe Santkuyl and Bob Draheim.
    A Mass of Christian Burial for Glenn will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2009 at 11:30 a.m. at ST. BERNADETTE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2331 E. Lourdes Drive, Appleton, with Fr. Don Zuleger officiating. Family and friends may visit at Wichmann Funeral Home Tri-County Chapel, Menasha on Monday from 3 to 6 p.m. and again on Tuesday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the mass at church. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
