    Thomas J. Burke, 79, of Seymour passed away Sunday morning, April 28, 2013 at Agrace Hospice Care in Madison. He was born March 6, 1934 in Madison, son of the late Thomas N. and Ruth (Donovan) Burke. On September 8, 1956 he was united in marriage to Shirley Coonen in Seymour.
    Tom was a member of St. John Catholic Church, Seymour and was a member of the choir. He was a graduate of U.W. Madison. Tom was a Captain in the Army Reserve Transportation Core and a member of the Seymour American Legion. Tom was a Seymour City Alderman. He served on the local Boy Scout Council. Tom enjoyed his time with his family at deer camp, singing with his guitar with his family accompanying him and camping trips.
    Survivors include his wife Shirley; children: MaryKathryn Burke, Thomas (Rayleen) Burke, Elizabeth (Gary) Moeller, Margaret Burke (Tom Peer), Nancy (Tom) Brzoski, Daniel (Beth) Burke, Jerry (deceased), Kathleen Burke (Patty Miller), Paul (Katie) Burke, David (Mary) Burke; 20 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; sisters and brother: Ruth Ann Church, Margie Pachter and Michael Burke; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Robert (Marge) Coonen.
    He is preceded in death by his son Jerry; great grandsons Thomas, Dominick and Gabriel Burke; brother Joseph Burke; sister Ellen Burke; brother-in-law Skip Church; father-in-law and mother-in-law Derbert and Margaret Coonen.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from 4-8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. and visitation will continue on Friday, May 10, 2013 at St. John's Catholic Church, Seymour from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. Bob Kabat officiating. Burial will take place at St. John's Catholic Cemetery. Military Rites will be performed by the Seymour American Legion.
