    Obituary:
    Michael G. Manders, 52, Watertown, Wis., died Sunday, April 18, 2004, at his home after a courageous battle with brain cancer. He was born July 11, 1951, in Green Bay, Wis., to Marie (nee) Vercauteran Manders and the late Earl Manders. On Oct. 17, 1987, he married Barbara Espenes at LaCrosse Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Michael attended grade school in De Pere and was a 1970 graduate of Abbott Pennings High School in De Pere. He also graduated in 1975, from DeVry Institute of Technology in Chicago. He had been employed as an Independent Metalurgy Engineer. He was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church and of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Society of Materials International and the Microscopy Society of American. He was an avid sportsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Michael loved watching his kids play hockey and soccer.
    He is survived by his wife, Barbara Manders, Watertown; his mother, Marie Manders, De Pere; two daughters, Jennifer (Brian) McCauley, Milwaukee; Hannah Manders, at home; and two sons, Christopher (Julie) Manders, Milwaukee; and Zachary Manders at home; one brother, Ron (Ruth) Manders, Green Bay; and two sisters, Kathy (Tom) Mueller, Forestville; and Sue (Bruce) Englebert, Green Bay. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his father; a daughter, Michelle Manders; and a sister, Joanne Manders.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, April 22, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church in Watertown, with Father Thomas Marr officiating. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Watertown. Visitation Wednesday, April 21, 2004, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Hafemeister Funeral Home in Watertown with a Rosary recited at 8 p.m. Visitation will also be at the church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Rainbow Hospice or to the charity of one's choice.
    HAFEMEISTER FUNERAL HOME IN WATERTOWN IS IN CHARGE OF ARRANGEMENTS.
