    Obituary:
    Patrick C. Smith, 91, of Neenah, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2013, at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh.
    Pat was born March 17, 1921, in Appleton, the son of the late Harry and Viola (Zimmerman) Smith. As a young man, Pat earned the Eagle Scout award of the Boy Scouts of America. Following high school, he served in the United States Army attaining the rank of Sergeant during World War II. He was in charge of the dental laboratory at Camp Cooke, California. Pat was united in marriage to Eileen VanderVelden on April 11, 1944, in Little Chute. They celebrated 69 years of marriage together!
    Pat and Eileen started their business, Twin City Dental Laboratory, in Neenah in 1946. Their first dental laboratory was in a rented room in the personal office of S.F. Shattuck in downtown Neenah. Together the Smiths developed a long-term friendship with Mr. Shattuck characterized by mutual respect. Through the years, with the help of long-time valued employees, their business became a successful and highly respected dental laboratory. Pat was President of the Associated Dental Laboratories of Wisconsin, serving two terms. He was a Director for one term at Milwaukee Area Technical College and served on the Board of Midwest Dental Lab Association. In addition, Pat was President for two terms of the Dental Technicians Society of Milwaukee. Pat and his son, Patrick T. Smith, were featured in an article that was published in the Post-Crescent entitled "Crown Princes of Dental Work".
    Pat was a long-time member of the Neenah Rotary Club and a 60 year member of the American Legion. The Smiths are parishioners at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. Pat was a master craftsman and woodworker, having built two sailing ship models that were each three years in the making. They were displayed at the Bergstrom-Mahler Museum during its Maritime Exhibition. He was an exceptional scale modeler, jeweler, goldsmith, artist, woodcarver and also a student of art and history. He had a passion for growing orchids in his greenhouse and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He had a true love of nature and the outdoors.
    Survivors include his loving wife, Eileen; two sons: J. Michael (Linda) Smith and their daughter, Anne Katherine Smith, all of Florida; and Patrick (Margaret) Smith, Neenah, their son, Christopher (Holly) Smith, and great-granddaughter, Savannah, all of Las Vegas; a brother, Warren (Elaine) Smith and their sons: James (Barbara), Peter (Denise) and Steven; other nieces and nephews: Richard (Carol), Matthew (Kathy), Ann, Mary Jo (Tom), and William.
    The memorial Mass for Patrick will be Wednesday, February 20, 2013, 11:30 a.m., at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 900 Geiger St., Neenah, with Father Richard Allen officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday until the hour of Mass at the church. Inurnment will be in the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum, Neenah. In lieu of flowers, a memorial, in Pat's honor, has been established for St. Gabriel Parish, the Salvation Army and the Boy Scouts of America.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Park View Health Center Woodside One staff for their exceptional care and assistance.
    Patrick lived by the simple rule - "If you have integrity nothing else matters; if you don't have integrity nothing else matters".

    Obituary:
    Warren E. Smith, 91, passed away peacefully Tuesday, July 14th, in Appleton, Wisconsin, where he was a life-long resident. He was born October 29th, 1923, to Harry J. and Viola (Zimmerman) Smith. Warren attended Appleton High School, graduating in 1940. He entered the Army Air Corps in February 1943, serving as a radio operator/gunner on B-17s and B24s with the 8th Air Corp, 860th Bomb Squad until his discharge in September 1945. He received the Air Medal with 2 Oak Clusters and European Theater Ribbon with 5 battle stars. After returning home, he attended Lawrence College. On June 14th, 1947, Warren married Elaine Schultz, celebrating over 67 years of marriage. He owned Smith Food Market on South Lawe Street for five years and later became part owner of Schultz Manufacturing and Supply Inc., managing it for 14 years. Warren and Elaine owned and operated W.E.Smith Realty, Inc. until his retirement in 1988. After retirement, he volunteered for eight years with the Disabled American Veterans Transportation Program and a year in the pharmacy at the William Bradley (Fox Valley) VA Clinic in Appleton. Warren was a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans Wm. F. Speel Chapter #18 and served as the Service Officer of the Chapter for 20 years. He was also a Life Member of VFW Harvey Pierre Post 2778. He proudly earned the Eagle Scout Award as a Boy Scout in Troop 25. As a Scoutmaster of Troop 5 at St. Therese in Appleton for over ten years, he was an inspiration to Scouts, a number of whom also earned their Eagle Awards.
    Every summer Warren could be found in his garden raising tomatoes, green beans and lettuce, not only for himself but to share with others. His green thumb extended to his many beautiful flowers and house plants.
    Warren and Elaine had three sons: Steven E. Smith, Allouez, Peter W. (Denise) Smith, Appleton, and James H. (Barbara) Smith, Appleton. He was also delighted with his five granddaughters: Jennifer Smith, Andrea Smith, Nicole (Dom) Opsteen, Katherine (Lee Kedrowski) Smith and Laurie (Jordan) Gross. In addition, he had nine great-grandchildren: Celeste, Zoey, Peter, Easton, Mackenzie, Clayton, Penelope, Harvey D., and Addison. All of the kids would bring an instant smile to his face. Also part of his family were: his nieces Janette (Jack) Mignon and Mary Helen (Ken) Walburn; his nephews William (Terry) West, Patrick (Margaret) Smith, and J. Michael (Linda) Smith; and his sister-in-law Eileen (Patrick) Smith. Warren was preceded in death by his wife of over 67 years in January 2015, Elaine (Schultz) Smith; his parents; his brother Patrick; brothers-in-law Earl Schultz and Robert Schultz; sisters-in-law Mary Schultz and Helen (Schultz) Lenz; nephews William (Marilee) Schultz and John West; and nieces Pat Christianson and Mary Brenner.
    A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:30 AM on Monday, July 20th, 2015, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 213 E. WISCONSIN AVE., Appleton, with Fr. William Hoffman officiating. Relatives and friends may visit the family on July 20th, 2015, at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. RICHMOND ST., Appleton, from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM. Military honors will commence at 10:45 AM. Burial St. Joseph Cemetery.
    The family of Warren would like to thank the caring people of Heartwood Homes Senior Living and Hospice Advantage for their sincere help and attention.
