    Harold H. Lathrop, age 93, passed away Friday afternoon, October 17, 2008, at his home. He was born January 16, 1915, son of the late Jess and Alma (Lehman) Lathrop. On October 12, 1940, he married Helen Marcks. She preceded him in death December 31, 2005. Harold was employed for Murphy Construction (MCC) for over 60 years. He was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek. He was an extraordinary man, baking his first pie at 93. He enjoyed watching Packers and Brewers games and was an avid card player, loosing $1.25 last Tuesday. He lived life to the fullest.
    Survivors include his daughter, Janice (Alex) Dommerich, Frederick, Maryland; a son, Gary (Carla) Lathrop, Appleton; grandchildren: Maria (Mitz) Hase, Phoenix, AZ; Amy (Trent) Wilson, Avon Lake, OH; great-grandchildren: Luke Hase, Taryn Wilson, Mac Wilson; two brothers: twin brother, Herb (Alice) Lathrop, New London; Bob (Bette) Lathrop, New London; two sisters-in-law, Bernice Lathrop, Appleton; and Lydia Scott, Orinda, CA.
    Preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth and Smokey, a sister, Frances Peebles.
    Friends may call Friday, October 24, 2008, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home and Saturday, October 25, 2008, from 10 a.m. until services at 11 a.m. at St. John's United Church of Christ, Black Creek with Pastor Don Bauman officiating. Burial in South Cicero Cemetery. A memorial fund has been established.
    A special thank you to neighbors, friends, and family who looked over Dad.

    Obituary:
    Herbert William Lathrop, age 96, New London, passed away Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at New London Family Medical Center. Herb was born January 16, 1915, in the Town of Hortonia to Jess and Alma (Lehman) Lathrop.
    Herb loved playing basketball and baseball with his brothers. They played for the New London Merchants. He also played in the first BABA championship game.
    On December 18, 1943, at Emanuel Lutheran Church he married Alice Kent and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage. Herb farmed in Hortonia all of his life. He owned and operated Lathrop Farm Equipment. He served as Hortonia Town Chairman for 26 years. Herb served as board of directors for Ellington Mutual Insurance Company and the New London Co-op and was also a former president of the Hortonville Fire Department. His true passion was playing cards with his many friends at Lathrop Log Cabin and watching Monday Night Football for 30 years.
    Herb is survived by his wife Alice; three sons, James (Darlene) Lathrop, Crandon; Jon (Patty) Lathrop, New London; David Lathrop, New London; two daughters, Sally (David) Brooks, Menasha and Marilyn Lathrop, New London (fiance, Larry Willenkamp), Appleton. Grandchildren: Melissa (Joe) Gerrits, and sons, Zachary Baehman, Lucas and Tyler Gerrits; Joel Wege, Lisa (Kraig) Monty and family, Krystal and Nathan; Jennifer (Shawn) Retzloff and family, Regina, Tyrone, Sarah, Shawn and Brady; Kenneth Chally and family, Bryce and Hope; Rod Kent and family, Hannah and David; Jess Lathrop (fiance, Nicki); Jason (Brenna) Lathrop and family, Dakota and Jovie; Joshua (Robin) Lathrop and family, Jaden and Jorden; Ashley and Jesse Simon. One great-great-grandson, Austyn. Herb is further survived by a brother, Robert, New London and two sister in-laws, Bernice Lathrop and Lydia Scott.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Alma; three brothers and a sister in-law, Kenneth Lathrop, his identical twin brother, Harold (Helen) Lathrop and Melvin Lathrop; a sister and brother in-law, Frances (Robert) Peebles and a granddaughter, Tracy Kent.
    Funeral services for Herb will be held on Saturday, May 28, 2011, at 10 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Friends may call at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home from 4-8 p.m. on Friday and also at the church on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.
    Special thanks to Dr. Renee Schuler and the staff of the New London Medical Center and the staff of St. Joseph Residence. Thank you to all of our family, friends, neighbors for keeping Dad 96 years young!!
