    Rosemary (Baenen) Jacobson, 83, Green Bay, died Thursday, May 1, 2008, after a nine month struggle with lung cancer. She was born June 21, 1924, in Green Bay, to the late William and Eva (Janssen) Baenen, the first of ten children. Rosemary attended Cathedral School for 10 grades and graduated from East High School in 1942. She married Dave Jacobson on December 17, 1959. He preceded her in death in 1980. Rosemary worked for Wisconsin Telephone in Green Bay and Appleton for 36 years, retiring in 1982. After retirement, she spent winters in Plantation, Fla. While living in Appleton, she was a member of St. Thomas More Parish. Since returning to Green Bay in 1990, she has been a member of St. Agnes Parish. Until her illness, she attended daily Mass and was dedicated to Eucharistic Adoration and Family Prayer Night devotions. Rosemary was a very generous and giving person. Many of her nieces and nephews were recipients of her beautiful hand knit baby afghans. Local food pantries and Love Life benefited from her generosity, as well as projects by the Telephone Pioneers, of which she was a long time member. She loved family gatherings and lunching with former co-workers and classmates. She is survived by three sisters and a brother: Ellen Baierl, Luxemburg; Claire (Larry) De Clerc, Green Bay; Ruth (Don) Stoehr, Green Bay; Paul (Diane) Baenen, Wrightstown; a brother-in-law, Bob Smeester, Tucson, Ariz.; many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by her special Florida friends, Ed and Judy Crelin and family. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters, Norma (John) Davies, Jim (Carol) Baenen, Marian Smeester, Peter Baenen, and an infant brother, William; and a brother-in-law, Roland Baierl. Friends may call at Blaney Funeral Home, 1521 Shawano Ave., Green Bay, from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7 p.m. and a Rosary will be prayed at 8 p.m. Sunday. Friends may also call at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 1484 Ninth St., Green Bay, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Monday. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the church with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will be in Allouez Catholic Cemetery.
