    Ruth Elida Avants passed away on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, in Evanston, Wyo., where she had lived for many years. She was born on Nov. 19, 1930, in the town of Ellington, the daughter of Matthew and Jennie (Laird) Nelson.
    Ruth graduated from Hortonville High School in 1948, and then from the Outagamie Rural Normal. Following that she taught school for several years. Making a change she went to work at Kimberly-Clark Main Office in Neenah. In 1963, she moved to Wyoming, where she met and married Robert Avants. They had three children, Shaleen, Michael and Sean.
    Ruth liked music and was a fine piano player. She was the accompanist for the girls' chorus in high school, and the organist at her churches in both Stephensville and Evanston. She worked as a practical nurse at the Wyoming State Hospital in Evanston. Ruth was a very friendly and sincere person and had many friends.
    Ruth was pre-deceased by her parents and husband. She is survived by her daughter, Shaleen, son, Michael, son and daughter-in-law, Sean and Susan, her brother and sister-in-law, Orville and Lila Nelson, her sister, Arlo Mae Sell, nephews, Robert and James Nelson, and niece, Judith Abendschein; and cousins.
    Funeral arrangements are pending.

    Barb Lohrenz, March 24, 1949 - July 2, 2013, beloved sister, dear friend and dog lover left us unexpectedly and too soon. She was born in Appleton WI, lived the first 25 years of her life in Wisconsin and then headed west to sunny California for the remainder of her life.
    Barb will be sorely missed by her brother, Bill Lohrenz of Appleton, WI, sister Becky (Lohrenz) and Russ Holdiman of Abrams, WI, brother Mike and Charmaine Lohrenz and family Colton, Mackenzie and Gabrielle of Green Bay, WI.
    In addition she will be missed by many close friends including; Jo Ann Spiegel, Dailey Doss, Sue and Michael Hayes, Jill Kury and Jane Mathewson to name a few. And most importantly, she is survived by Beemer, her cherished dog.
    She was preceded in death by her parents Wesley and Lucille (Burmeister) Lohrenz, as well as many aunts and uncles.
    A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on July 14, 2013 at Center Emmanuel United Methodist Church, N3896 Hample Rd., Black Creek WI.
    In lieu of flowers, if desired, give to your local Humane Society in her honor.
