    Obituary:
Jerome P. Elliott, 'Pat or Jerry', Kaukauna, age 67, passed away on December 4, 2012 from heart complications at Appleton Medical Center, surrounded by his family. Pat was born on March 3, 1945, in Antigo, Wisconsin, son of Opal (Rose) and George Elliott. He married Barbara E. Van Gompel on May 29, 1965 at St John's in Little Chute. He proudly served his country in Korea while in the Army. He worked at several different places throughout his life and retired from Miller Electric after 33 years of service. He loved to be involved in projects at work which transitioned into volunteer work during his retirement. He volunteered for the Kaukauna Athletic Association, coached any sport his children were ever involved with. He loved helping kids, making sure that every single one felt like an important part of the team, no matter what their role. He volunteered at the St. Paul Home, Meals on Wheels and Holy Cross Parish. Pat grew so much in his faith during his retirement. Anyone who knew him could visibly see the transformation in him. He was hungry to learn more about his faith and was devoted to doing his daily scripture readings and prayer time. He always loved to be helpful wherever he could, so when he found out the many ways he could help out at church, he jumped in with both feet. At Holy Cross he was involved with HEROS retired helpers, doing odd jobs and maintenance around the church and school, selling scrip, CRHP (Christ Renews His Parish), communion distribution, counted donations and was the driver for the fall pilgrimage to Our Lady of Good Help shrine. Even on his deathbed, he had the forethought to donate his eyes and tissue.
His grandchildren held a very special place in his heart. He loved to listen to them play their latest piece on the piano, cello or whatever instrument they were learning. He also attended every Christmas program, concert and play that any of them were ever in. He could always be found in the top row of the bleachers in any gymnasium, football, baseball, softball or soccer field supporting his grandchildren. He was the grandkid's number one fan. He even traveled all over the Midwest to watch his grandson play baseball. He was a very proud grandpa and loved to tell anyone who would listen about how great all of his grandkids were.
Above and beyond his love for his children, grandchildren, church and community, Pat loved his wife. Throughout all of the ups and downs of marriage, he loved her unconditionally. She was the light of his life.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Barbara; daughter Julie (Allan) Huss and their children Amy, Tonya and Joe; son Craig (Susan Elliott Madigan) and their daughter Lauren; son Matthew (Jamie); 'adopted daughter' Bobbi Jo (Ben) Propson; sister Maxine Welhouse, brothers George Jr. (Karen), Bob (Nancy), Tom (Barb); brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Steven, Carl (Barb), Mark, Lisa Van Gompel.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by brothers Richard Rose, Jim (and his wife Marie), Ronald and Gene; and his parents-in-law Richard R. and Dolores Van Gompel.
The family will receive friends and relatives at HOLY CROSS PARISH (309 Desnoyer St. Kaukauna) on Monday, December 10, 2012, from 1:00 pm until the time of the Mass at 4:00 pm with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating. Military rites conduted by the Jacob Copppus American Legion Post 258 will follow. Committal Holy Cross Cemetery. To sign the guest book, visit oconnellfh.com. A memorial fund will be established in his name.
