    Biography:
    CHARLES W. WENDEL, whose fine farm of 140 acres is situated in section 11, Dale township, may be numbered among the practical agriculturists and good citizens of his community. He is a native of Dale township, where he was born September 25, 1870, and is a son of Fred and Barbara (Now) Wendel, the former a native of Germany and the latter of Canada. Mr. Wendel's parents were married in Dale township, and settled on the property now owned by their son, Charles W, at that time a wild tract of 160 acres. Here Mr. Wendel was engaged in farming until his death, March 28, 1894, when he was fifty-five years old, and his widow passed away November 1, 1909, having attained the age of sixty-five years. Both are buried in Medina Cemetery. Fred Wendel served for three years in the Civil War as a member of a Wisconsin cavalry regiment and received an injury to his back from falling from his horse, from which he never fully recovered. He was a member of the Grand Army of the Republic, and was buried with military honors. Charles W. Wendel was the next to the oldest of his parents' five children, and until he was twentytwo years old worked on the home farm. He then rented a farm for three years, after which he purchased the homestead, on which he has been operating since April, 1899. He now has about eighty acres under cultivation, neatly fenced with woven wire, and he carries on general and dairy farming, marketing his dairy products, hogs and cattle, and some grain, sugar beets and potatoes. He is breeding to Holstein cattle, milking about ten cows throughout the year, and breeds to Percheron horses. In 1910 he remodeled his residence, and the basement barn, built by his father, and which is 60x36 feet, will be remodeled in 1912. In political matters Mr. Wendel is a Republican, and he and his family attend the Lutheran Church at Hortonville. On September 5, 1894, Wendel was united in marriage with Martha Kluge, who was born November 17, 1874, the sixth of the fourteen children born to Edward and Augusta (Schmolke) Kluge, natives of Germany. Wendel's parents were married in their native country and came to America about 1880, settling in the town of Dale, where they are living at this time, Mr. Kluge being seventytwo years old and his wife sixty-six. Mr. Wendel's six children, all of whom are living at home, are as follows: Gerald, Ella, Irvin, Mata, Dora and Gilbert.

    Justin Mark Sprangers, Menasha, age 26, died from injuries resulting from a car accident on November 24, 2009. Justin was born on May 3, 1983, son of Susan K. (Much) Sprangers and the late Mark Steven Sprangers. Justin was a graduate of Menasha High School in 2002. He was a student at Fox Valley Technical College and was employed with Tidi Products of Neenah. Justin loved life and lived it to the fullest. He loved to be with family and friends and particularly enjoyed clowning with his cuz Ralphy. Justin loved his Nissan 350Z and was a member of the ZCrew of Wisconsin and Chicago Z. He was a great sports enthusiast and enjoyed comedy, music and playing cards.
    Survivors include his mother, Susan Sprangers, Menasha; his girlfriend, Jessica Mollen, Kaukauna; grandparents: Leo and Joan Sprangers, Appleton; Dorothy Engblom, Menasha; Ron and Jan Much, Little Chute. Justin is further survived by aunts: Mary (Duane) Dunsirn, Jean (Timothy) Pontow, Barb (Lee) Brockman, Lori (Dean) Knutson; uncles: Michael Sprangers, Rob (Melisa) Sprangers; aunts: Tammy Bieberstein, DeeAnna (John) Lichtenberg, Nicole (Ralph) Schultz, Lisa (Robert) Kober, Renee (Todd) Golden, Skeeter (Mark) Abrahamson; uncles: Brian (Ann) Much, and Josh Much. Justin was blessed with many, many cousins who will love and miss him forever.
    He was preceded in death by his father, Mark Steven Sprangers; uncle, Hans Bieberstein; and step-grandfather, David Engblom.
    The funeral service will be held at 6 p.m. on Monday, November 30, 2009, at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home. Visitation will be held on Monday from 3 p.m. until the hour of service. A memorial is being established in his name.
    Our deepest gratitude to the extremely kind hearted loving angel, Amber Schroeder, for your assistance at the scene of the accident. God Bless you for so lovingly helping Justin and his best friend, Adam Weston, enter the afterlife so peacefully. Your tremendously loving heart shall never be forgotten.
