    James K. Dake, 90, King, Wis., passed away on Friday, March 13, 2009, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wis. He was born Oct. 26, 1918, in New London, Wis., son of Adolph and Anna (Klug) Dake. James served in the U.S. Navy as a Warrant Machinist from Dec. 9, 1937 to Sept. 25, 1945. He was a survivor of Pearl Harbor where he was aboard the USS Solace, a hospital ship, on Dec. 7, 1941. On June 6, 1953, James married Celestia Timm in Appleton, Wis. She preceded him in death on Feb. 15, 2003. James was a retired dairy farmer in Greenleaf, Brown Co., Wis.
    James is survived by sons, Don (Judy) Dake, Appleton; Leroy (Sharon) Dake, Fond du Lac; James (Charlene) Van Hout, Appleton; Jesse (Burnie) Van Hout, Tucson, Ariz.; Daniel (Patti) Dake, Waupaca; John (Heidi) Dake, Amherst, Wis.; Larry Dake, Isle, Minn.; daughters, Susan (Dennis) Biese, Kimberly; Sally (Jerry) Getlinger, Waupaca; 26 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; sister, Kaye Colburn, Oshkosh; sister-in-law, Lavilla (Robert) Lueck, Appleton; brothers-in-law, Raymond (Jane) Timm, Appleton; Marvin Timm, Neenah. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Adolph and Anna Dake; wife, Celestia Dake; two younger brothers; brother, Robert Dake; and three sisters, Dorothy Clement, Cecily Capen and Lucille Pellinger.
    A Funeral Service will be on Tuesday, March 17, 2009, at 1:30 p.m. at the Main Chapel at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wis. Pastor Tom Getlinger will officiate. A visitation will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Main Chapel on Tuesday. Military Honors will be performed following the service on Tuesday. Burial will be in the spring at Rural Cemetery in the Town of Dayton. The Holly Funeral Home of Waupaca is assisting the family with arrangements.
