    George N Baldwin. 57. A former Appleton real estate subdivides died Wednesday in Fort Lauderdale. Fla. Baldwin formerly lived at 143 Park Ave., Neenah. The Appleton native was a general partner with his brother Karl in the Baldwin Real Estate Co. for more than 20 years and was a former president of the Baldwin Plywood & Veneer Co., Gillett. A graduate of Holy Cross College. "Worcester,' Mass. Baldwin was a member of the Knights of Columbus, fourth degree, the Appleton Elks Club and Butte des Morts Golf Club, Athletic Club Member. He also belonged to the Milwaukee Athletic Club, Union League Club. Chicago, and Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club. Coral Ridge Yacht Club, and Coral, Ridge Country Club, Fort Lauderdale. He is survived by his widow, his mother, 3 daughters, four sons, one brother and eight grandchildren. Funeral services will begin at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary Catholic Church and at the Brettschneider Funeral Home at 9 a.m. Friends may call at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Friday. The rosary will be said at 8 p.m. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.

    Karla B. Jensen was born in Trenton, N.J., on Nov. 6, 1938, and was raised in Appleton, Wis., the daughter of Theresa K. Baldwin and Karl P. Baldwin, a prominent lawyer and businessman. In 1960, she graduated from the University of Colorado with a B.A. in Business and Marketing. On Aug. 28, 2008, Karla succumbed to kidney cancer. She died peacefully at home, surrounded by devoted friends and family members.
    Throughout her life, Karla Jensen was a loving and skillful advocate for a wide variety of charitable causes. In particular, she gave generously of her time and resources to organizations promoting the welfare and well-being of children. In addition to raising her own four children, she also cared for 16 foster children. She served as a member of the State Child Placement Review Board for 22 years and was a founding member of STEHM (Supporting Transitional and Emergency Housing Ministry), a transitional shelter for homeless mothers and their children. She served as President of STEHM for eight years. In later years she also served as a Trustee of Christiana Care Hospital.
    Karla was an active member of St. Helena's Catholic Church for 42 years and volunteered on the Parish Outreach program, offering assistance and aid to those in need. She served on many other committees, including the Parish Council. Karla Jensen also shared her talents as a vocalist and guitar player with St. Helena's Church, singing in various choirs and liturgical musical groups.
    Ever lively and energetic, Karla enjoyed a vibrant social life, traveled extensively and excelled at several sports, including tennis and downhill skiing. She particularly loved playing golf and was a member of the DuPont Country Club where she was active with the women's golf group.
    Above all else, Karla was an affectionate and devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Her great joy was to be surrounded by her large family. Karla is survived by her loving husband of 47 years, James; her four children, James, Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; Jonathan, Pasadena, Md.; Kirsten, Minneapolis, Minn.; Kimberly, Baltimore, Md.; and their spouses; ten grandchildren; and brothers, Gregory Baldwin and Jonathan Baldwin, Appleton, Wis.
    Karla was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Karl and Theresa Baldwin, Appleton, Wis.; three brothers, Peter, Charles and Michael; her sister, Judith; and an infant child, Timothy.
    All members of the community are invited to a viewing on Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008, from 7 to 9 p.m. at BEESON FUNERAL HOME OF WILMINGTON, 412 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, Del. A Catholic Mass will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 3, 2008, at 11 a.m. at St. Helena's Church, 602 Philadelphia Pike, Wilmington, Del.
    A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard on Saturday, Sept. 13, 2008, in Appleton Wis., with inurnment to follow.
