Obituary:
Robert "Bob" Peter Buechel, 69, De Pere, was welcomed into Heaven Monday, July 6, 2009, with his family by his side. He was born October 17, 1939, in Wrightstown to the late Albert and Florence (McCormick) Buechel. He graduated from St. Norbert High School in 1957 and earned his business degree from St. Norbert College. After his service in the Army he returned to Green Bay and began his 36-year career at Procter & Gamble. On May 21, 1963, he married Margaret "Reetz" Van Zeeland at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.
Bob was an avid fisherman and sportsman. He was proud to have hunted with the same group of hunters for 40 consecutive years. He remained true to his farming roots by restoring antique Farmall tractors. In his retirement years, he enjoyed spending time with his wife and family at their cottage in Eagle River, Wisconsin.
Survivors include his loving wife of 46 years, Reetz; four children: Barb (Steve) Sauvey; Sue (Norb) Hockers; Bill (Jennifer) Buechel; and Kristin (Larry) Lambrecht; five grandchildren: Keira and Matthew Hockers; Meghan and Emilie Buechel; and Daniel Lambrecht; sister, Margaret Wilz; brothers, Tom (Judy) Buechel and Fran Buechel; three sisters-in-law: Carol DeBruin; Joan Voet; and Mary (Tom) Kalupa; and two brothers-in-law: Bernie (Bonnie) Van Zeeland and Ed (Patti) Van Zeeland. He will also be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, and friends.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Florence; younger brother, William Michael Buechel who passed away in 1957; and brothers-in-law: Roger Braun; Dick Wilz; Tom DeBruin; and Dan Voet.
This celebration of his life returns him to his roots at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrightstown.
Family and friends may call Thursday, July 9, 2009, at St. Clare Parish/St. Paul Catholic Church, 437 Main St., Wrightstown, from 4 to 8 p.m., with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m.. Visitation will continue on Friday at the church from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the church, Friday, at 11 a.m., with Msgr. Roy Klister officiating.
