    Norbert Eichmeier, age 83, died Saturday, July 3, 2004 after a lingering illness.
    Norbert was born in New Holstein July 29, 1920 to the late Herman and Margaret (Joas) Eichmeier. He married Appolonia "Appie" Sell on June 2, 1948 in Chilton. Norbert and his family farmed for 31 years before retiring in 1979, then enjoyed many happy years working in his garden.
    Norbert was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, the Chilton Eagles and Knights of Columbus branch 7732.
    Norbert is survived by his wife, children Paul (Diane), Hilbert, David (Diane), White Lake, Mich., Robert (Karen), Hilbert, Jerome (Kathy), Hilbert and Mary (Phil) Krueger, Portland, Ore.; 11 grandchildren (Chris (Sandy), Adam (Shelly), Brad (Jennifer), Bruce (Jennifer), Amanda (Reuben) Nelson, BreAnn, Chad (fiancée Jennifer Kesler), Mike, Angela, Brandon, Tasha), seven great grandchildren (Aaron, Brady, Ashley, Carter, Dominic, Mercedes, McKenna); two sisters, Loretta (Marion) Mason, Crivitz and Luella (Art) Snortum, Menasha; sisters- and brothers-in-law, Rita (Elmer) Eichmeier, Kaukauna, Esther (Joe) Sell, Chilton, Leona (Jake) Paltzer, Appleton, Al Sell, Chilton, Ervin (Rosie) Sell, Chilton, nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his brother Elmer "Bud," sister- and brothers-in-law Marion Mason, Arthur Snortum, John Sell, Joe Sell, Claude Sell, Fred Sell, Elmer and Amelia Propson.
    Funeral Services will at 11 a.m. on Wednesday July 7, 2004 at St. John Catholic Church in St. John with the Rev. Kenneth Frozena officiating. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery.
    Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday July 6, 2004 at Wieting Family Funeral Home, 411 W. Main St., in Chilton, and again from 9:30-10:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home when family prayers will be held.
    On Tuesday evening there will be an Eagles Club prayer service at 6:30 p.m., Knights of Columbus Rosary at 6:45 p.m. and a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jackie Downey and the wonderful staff of Calumet County Hospice for their excellent care.

    Snortum, Luella Katheryn (nee Eichmeier)
    Luella Katheryn Snortum, Menasha, 78, passed away on Sunday evening, July 19, 2009. Luella was born on October 9, 1930, the youngest of four children born to Herman and Margaret (Joas) Eichmeier of Chilton, Wisconsin. Preceded in death by brothers Norbert and Elmer, and also a sister Loretta Mason. Luella married Arthur Snortum from Chilton in 1947.
    Together they raised five children in the Township of Menasha: Shirley (Ron) Schloemer, Waterford, WI, Gerald (Tina) Snortum, Shiocton, Beverly Hafemeister, Neenah, Sandra Kearn, Tacoma, WA, and James (Anita) Snortum, Shiocton.
    Following her husband's death in 1972, Lu worked at Theda Clark Hospital until her retirement in 1992. At the time of her death, Luella had eleven grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Luella was a beloved, caring mother, grandmother, and friend. Our memory of her will remain in our hearts forever.
    Funeral services will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park Chapel at 1451 Green Valley Road, Neenah, on Wednesday, July 22, 2009, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Martin Ruge officiating. Friends will be received in the chapel from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of service. Luella will be taken to her final resting place next to her husband at Greenlawn.
    The family would like to express their deepest appreciation to Heartland Hospice for their excellent care and compassion.
