Obituary:
Margaret A. Schroeder, Kaukauna, age 88, loving Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother passed into God's loving arms on Sunday, April 1, 2012. Margaret was born August 12, 1923 to Bernard and Agnes Reed. She married the love of her life Elwyn Schroeder on July 20, 1946, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Kaukauna. They enjoyed 60 wonderful years together. Margaret attended Outagamie Teachers College and later received her bachelor's degree from UW Oshkosh. She enjoyed her many years of teaching. Margaret was very active in her life. She was a member of St. Mary Altar Society, church lector, a member of the Funeral Choir and took part in Bible Study groups. She was also part of Kaukauna VFW, the Hospital Auxiliary, and the Lady K.C.'s. She especially loved going to lunch and playing sheepshead with the ladies at St. Paul Home. A favorite time was Wednesday night going to eat with her daughters and friends and then playing sheepshead after. Margaret also enjoyed her years bowling at Verbeten's Bar and Grill. Family gatherings were her most favorite times. Margaret was a special woman. Her life encompassed her love of family and all who met her saw she was one of a kind.
Margaret is survived by her loving children: Carole (Dennis) Pankratz, Richard (Linda) Schroeder, Nancy Schroeder, Gail (Jeff) Gustman, Mark (Linda) Schroeder, and Mary (Al) Kuklinski; also furry child, Lilly. She is further survived by her adored grandchildren: Lindsay and Trisha Pankratz, Tammy (fiancé Jay Klapps) Nieuwenhuis, Jenny (Brian) Bushman, Rob Schroeder, Jon Schroeder (Chad Robenhorst), Aaron (Shelby) Gustman, Matthew (Amanda) Gustman, Melissa (John) Biesterveld, Eric (Jessica) Schroeder, Nikki Schroeder, Emily (Mike) Baudhuin; great grand-children: Aaron Nieuwenhuis, Olivia, Breanna, Makenna Bushman, Makaida Kilgas, Brady and Livi Schroeder, Quentin and Lauren Gustman, Thomas Gustman, and Elwyn Baudhuin; a special family friend, Dorothy Konen; brothers and sisters: Bernard (Evelyn) Reed, Maurice (Janice) Reed, Edward (Marie Jo) Reed, Elaine (Phillip) Fischer, and Dorothy (Vernon) Holsbach; two brothers-in-law and a sister-in-law: Norman Schroeder, Lloyd Van Dyn Hoven, and Gloria Schroeder.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elwyn; her parents, Bernard and Agnes Reed, a brother, Phillip, two sisters: Mary (Louis) Smith, Cecilia Van Dyn Hoven, special niece, Shanna Van Dyn Hoven, Elwyn's parents, Norman and Emma Schroeder, and a brother-in-law, Edward Schroeder.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. MARY CHURCH, 119 W. 7th St., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors and Deacon Maurice Reed co-officiating. Friends will be received on Monday, April 9, 2012 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Parish Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. concluding the evening. Friends may call again directly at church on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
