    Obituary:
    Dennis A. Tierney of Appleton, age 62, passed away, surrounded by his loving family, at Appleton Medical Center on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2004. He was born in Appleton on July 1, 1942, son of the late Cyril and Rena (Remmel) Tierney. In 1970 he married Grace Banker in Black Creek. She preceded him in death in 1982. He served in the United States Army in the early sixties and was stationed in Oklahoma. He was employed at Pechiney Plastic Packaging in Neenah for over 40 years and retired in July, 2004. He enjoyed golf, stock car racing, bowling, watching the Packers, and especially riding his mountain bike.
    He is survived by his children, Kim (fiance, Guy Redlin) Tierney of Oshkosh and James (Nicole) Tierney of Little Chute; grandson, Andrew Tierney; brothers, Thomas (Eva Biering) Tierney of Houston, Texas; Richard (Barbara) Tierney of Neenah; Robert (Audrey) Tierney of Menasha and Terrance (Victoria) Tierney of Stephen City, Va.; sister, Linda (Mike) Buss of Grand Chute; and a sister-in-law, Janice Tierney of Appleton. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, and the Banker family.
    Denny is preceded in death by his wife, Grace; his parents; a brother, John Patrick Tierney; nephew, Timothy Tierney; and mother and father-in-law, Viola and Stanley Banker.
    The funeral liturgy will be at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 29, 2004, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 312 South State Street, Appleton, with Fr. Michael O'Rourke officiating. Friends will be received at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be at St. Mary Cemetery, Appleton.
    The family would like to express a special thank you to the staff at Appleton Medical Center for their wonderful care and also to the many people who offered their prayers.
    A memorial fund is being established in Denny's name.
    "May the road rise with you, may the wind be always at your back, may the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields, and until we meet again, may God keep you in the palm of His hand."
