Obituary:
Babcock, Carlton Age 86, of Neenah, died suddenly of a heart attack at his residence on Saturday, March 27, 2004. Carlton was born on November 11, 1917 in Neenah, son of the late Orville and Sarah (Gorrow) Babcock. He married Olga Haldemann on November 18, 1939 at Trinity Lutheran in Neenah. Carlton was a volunteer fireman for Clayton-Winchester Fire Department for 33 years, and was a former Town of Clayton Clerk. He loved to hunt, travel, play cards, fish and was still bowling. Carlton was a life long farmer still involved with the 1856 family homestead.
Carlton is survived by his wife, Olga; two children: Sharron (Edward) Miller, Kewaskum and Jim (Linda) Babcock, Brookfield; six grandchildren: Pat (Wendy) Miller; Doug (Susan) Miller; Ken (Terry) Miller; Cheryl (Derek) Peterson; Tim (Mary) Babcock; Chrissy Babcock; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister-in-law Eleanor Babcock. He is further survived by other family members and friends.
Carlton was preceded in death by one brother Dean Babcock. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 30, 2004 at Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester, with Rev. Clarence Harms officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 until 8:00 PM on Monday, March 29, 2004 at Menasha's Westgor Funeral Home, and visitation will be again on Tuesday from 10:00 AM until the time of the service at the church. Interment will take place in Oak Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in Carlton's name for Grace Lutheran Church.
