    Pioneer Resident of Dale Township Is Dead, Medina
    August Bottensek, 84, a resident of the town of Dale for 82 years, died unexpectedly at his home in Medina Wednesday afternoon. He was born in Douseman, Waukesha County, in 1851 but resided there only two years. Survivors are the widow, two daughters, Miss Anne E. Bottensek, Eau Claire; Mrs. Charles Langman, Medina; three sons, William S. Bottensek, Vesper; Jay J. Bottensek, Hortonville; John Bottensek, Medina; one sister, Mrs. Edward Wege, Sr., Ellington; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at the residence at 1:30 Saturday afternoon and at the Methodist church of Medina at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Daniel DeBraal will be in charge and burial will be in the South Medina Cemetery.

    Obituary:
    Rachel Connelly, of Appleton, passed away peacefully in her sleep on May 6th at age 104. Rachel was beloved by the Appleton community, and she kept a full calendar meeting friends for lunch almost daily until recent years. She impressed everyone with her sharp mind and warm sense of humor, and she handled the challenges of aging with grace and clever words of wisdom. Rachel enjoyed an active life in Appleton and in her neighborhood. She was able to stay in her longtime home until the end, thanks to her wonderful friends, great neighbors and caregivers. Her family is profoundly grateful to everyone for enriching her life and being so caring over the years. Their many kindnesses are a reflection of the spirit of Appleton.
    Rachel was born on the family farm in Medina, Wisconsin to John and Georgia Bottensek. She was the loving wife of Robert Connelly Sr., and she raised three step-children, Mary Pat Connelly Wax, Robert (Bob) Connelly, and Ellen Connelly Rice. She is survived by her step-sister Christine Hall, two nephews: Steven and Kenneth Lawrence, nine grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren.
    A funeral service will take place at 11 am on Friday, May 9, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Nickel Funeral Chapel. Friends may visit from 10:30 am until the time of service. Interment will take place at the South Medina Cemetery, Medina.
