    Obituary:
    Virginia "Ginny" P. Zobel, age 92, Green Bay, went to her eternal rest, surrounded by her family, June 27, 2015, following a short illness. She was born July 7, 1922, in the Town of Seymour, Outagamie County, and attended Plainview school and Seymour High School, graduating with the class of 1940.
    She was the oldest daughter of John and Emma (Schunk) Platten and was baptized at St. Sebastian Church, Isaar.
    On June 8, 1944 she married Donald F. Zobel, Seaman 1st Class, US Navy, at St. Sebastian Parish Rectory, Isaar. Following her marriage Ginny moved to Los Angeles California and Donald returned to his ship headed for the South Pacific. He preceded her in death June 22, 1978.
    At the end of WWII, in November 1945, Ginny and Don returned to Seymour, WI. and engaged in dairy farming from March 1946 to February 1961 at which time the farm at Naverino was sold and they moved to Sherwood WI.
    Ginny held a keen interest and expertise in bookkeeping and accounting. Throughout her adult years she held various positions doing accounting, bookkeeping and income tax. In 1972, she launched her home based business, Virginia P. Zobel, Income Tax & Accounting Service, and continued to serve her clients until 2011.
    She took special pride in the accomplishments of her children, eleven grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren, her business, her ability to sew or mend anything needed by family and friends. Her cottage in Townsend was her 'get-away' place. Ginny very much enjoyed travelling, especially to reunions of the two ships her husband was assigned to during WWII, the USS Belle Grove LSD 2 and USS Capricornus AKA 57. She took much pride in being chosen to host the 30th Annual USS Belle Grove Reunion in 2009 here in Wisconsin
    Survivors include four daughters; Mary Lou (Mike) Schneider, Ellen (Chuck) Schneider, Vicky Zobel (daughter-in-law), Donna (Donald) Zunker, Diann (Kurt) Schoenfelt. Eleven grandchildren; Michele (Bob) Mengert, Maria Schneider (Bill) LaMay; Scott (Trish) Schneider; Todd (Julie) Schneider; Kathy Van Offeren; Kelly (Joe) Chernowski; Kerry (Jason Apple) Zobel; Adam (Joy) Zunker; Brittany (Rashad) Cobb; Levi Schoenfelt; Erica Schoenfelt. 21 great-grandchildren; Ethan, Jonah & Caleb DuWell; Leah, Braden & Noah Schneider; Darien & Kaelyn Van Offeren; Holden Zobel-Apple ; Naomi, Faith, Lydia, Esther, Luke and Linus Chernowski; Ryan, Allysa & Jacob Schneider; Owen, Elizabeth & Luke Zunker. Two sisters; Alice Bogenschutz, Audrey (Bob) Tierney, sister-in-laws Carol Platten, Diane Platten, Leona Platten, and Lois Kracht nieces, nephews and friends. Beside her parents and husband Donald, she was preceded in death by two sons, an infant, Allen and Gerald "Jerry" Zobel, March 2001, three sisters, Florence Platten, Geneva Streblow, and Frances Woodke. Four brothers, Norman, Vernon, Eugene and John (Jack) Platten and one brother in law, William (Bill) Woodke.
    Friends may call at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL, ST. MARY SITE, at 119 West 7th St., Kaukauna, on Wednesday, July 1, 2015, from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, with services at 11:00 AM. Interment will be at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. www.boettcherfamilyfuneral.com. 920-766-2099.
