    From VanAbel Family History;Jacquelyn (Jackie) attended Holy Cross Catholic Elementary School and lat er graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1952. She then went to the S t. Mary's School of Nursing in Madison, Wisconsin and graduated as a regis tered nurse in June of 1953. She later attended United Airlines Stewardre ss School in Cheyenne, Wyoming and, after completing her training, flew t he Los Angeles to Honolulu, Hawaii route which required that medical sta ff be present aboard the aircraft. During layovers in Los Angeles, Jack ie worked as an emergency room nurse at Los Angeles County General Hospita l.

    Obituary:
    Jacquelyn "Jacquie" (Jacques) Van Abel, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2014. She was born January 23, 1934, the daughter of the late Fred and Kitty Jacques, she lived most of her life in Kaukauna. She was the beloved wife of the late Tom for more than 53 years. Jacquie graduated from Kaukauna High School and UW School of Nursing. After many years as an Industrial Nurse at Kimberly Clark, she became a School Nurse for the Kaukauna School System. Her "can do" attitude touched the lives of many in the community. She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kaukauna.
    She was the loving mother of Mark (Kimberly) Amy (Bill Sarles) and Craig (Mary); the cherished grandmother of Molly, Megan, Emily, Lauren, Josh and Nic; dear sister of Lee and the late Dale and Donnie. She is further survived by sisters-in-law: Sue and Judy Jacques.
    A Memorial Mass for Jacquie will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH at ST. FRANCIS CHURCH, Hollandtown with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Friends may call at church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of mass. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Kaukauna High School Alumni Foundation, PO Box 98, Kaukauna, WI 54130.
