    Obituary:
Carol R. Vander Heyden, 79, of Appleton, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Friday, June 6, 2014.
She was born on December 22, 1934 to the late Raymond and Ruth (Rowland) Kneice. Carol lived her entire life in Appleton. She graduated from Appleton West High School in 1952. On June 9, 1956 she was united in marriage to Andrew Vander Heyden at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and together they celebrated 58 wonderful years.
Carol started her career at Home Mutual Insurance Company in Appleton. Later, she was employed at Columbus Club as a waitress for over 25 years. Many of her co-workers became life-long friends.
Carol was a faithful Christian and long-time, active member of St. Thomas More Catholic Church. She loved to sing, was a member of the church choir, and meticulously organized all of the choir's music. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, boating, relaxing in the sun, and had a passion for nature especially bird watching and nurturing flowers. She was also an avid Brewer fan - listening or watching the games every chance she could.
Carol will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and a genuine caring person always willing to help others. She had a heart of gold and cherished her family, especially spending time with her granddaughters.
Carol leaves behind her loving husband, Andrew; three children: Lori (Randy) Piette, Linda (Todd) Noack, and Timothy Vander Heyden; three grandchildren: Lindsey Noack (fiancé Jason Sirianni), Lauren Noack, and Amber Vander Heyden; sister, Angie (Ray) St. Louis, along with nieces, a nephew, other relatives and many close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ronald and infant Timothy.
A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at 11:00 AM at ST. THOMAS MORE CHURCH, 1810 N. McDonald St., Appleton, with Fr. Gerald Falk officiating. Relatives and friends may visit with the family at the church on Wednesday, June 11, 2014 from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A private burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
Thank you for your constant love and support and being an active part of our lives. We are blessed to have so many wonderful memories with you. You will be deeply missed. We love you so much!
