    Obituary:
Jeffery Glenn Hintz, age 63, of Stevens Point, was suddenly called into the loving arms of his Heavenly Father on Friday, July 21, 2017, while celebrating a family event in Waupaca. Jeff was born on October 1, 1953, the son of Jim and Elaine Hintz of Appleton, Wisconsin. He was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Appleton. He attended grades K-8 at St. Paul's Lutheran School, and graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in Appleton in 1971. Jeff graduated from UW-Stevens Point in 1975 with a Degree in Biology.
Jeff was the athlete of the family. In his youth, he played Little League and Babe Ruth baseball, coached by his father. He played basketball in grade school and high school. But Jeff's first love was football. He was on the FVL football team for all four years of high school, where he relished his hard-hitting role as an offensive lineman. He also played football in college during his Freshman year. He enjoyed competitive powerlifting, capping his career with an award-winning deadlift of 605 pounds. He kept active in athletics all throughout his life.
Growing up during the Vince Lombardi "Glory Years", Jeff developed his lifelong love of the Green Bay Packers. He enjoyed sparring with his father, a Bears fan, over the changing fortunes of both teams. He was a dedicated Brewers, Bucks, Timber Rattlers, UWSP Pointers, and Wisconsin Badgers sports fan. Outside of athletics, Jeff was a founding member of the "Mutated Members" Trivia Team, which reached the top 25 in the annual UWSP Trivia Contest many times.
Jeff felt a deep passion to honor the service and sacrifice of those who served in the military, instilled in him by his WWII Navy veteran father. He was a loving son, brother, uncle, and cousin. He treasured the friendships and special times he shared with his college buddies, trivia team pals, sports teammates, and work colleagues.
Jeff was employed for over 35 years by Lee Beverage, Inc., working as a deliveryman, salesman and merchandiser. He was always appreciative of the dedication Lee Beverage showed to him during his career with the company.
Jeff is survived by a brother, John (Julie) Hintz, Waupaca; a niece, Breanna Hintz, Marshfield; a nephew, Andrew Hintz, Mandan, ND; a great-niece, Nevaeh Hintz, Eau Claire; an aunt, Eileen Tiede, Appleton; and many dear cousins and treasured friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Elaine Hintz.
