ROCKLAND - Lorraine A. Brueggeman, 87, of Rockland passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009, at Tomah Healthcare Center.
She was born Aug. 10, 1922, to Nicholas and Anna (Weinke) Antony on Fish Creek Ridge.
She is survived by two sons, John (Linda) Brueggeman of Tomah and Joe (Terrie) Brueggeman of Buffalo City, Wis.; five daughters, Theresa Olson of Rockland, Karen Garves of Brush Prairie, Wash., Sue Asleson of Sparta, Rita (Cristobal) Candelario of Sparta and Marilyn (Jerome) Schultz of Adams, Wis.; 23 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 18 great-great-grandchildren; brothers, Erling (Alice) Antony of Sparta and Alois (Anna Mae) Antony of Bangor; sisters, Evelyn Jensen of La Crosse, Anna Mae Hemmersbach of Sparta, Mary (Lambert) Hemmersbach of Tomah and Amelia Bradley of Onalaska; a sister-in-law, Vivian Antony of Bangor; and nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Brueggeman Sr.; her parents, Nicholas and Anna; a great-great-grandchild; sons-in-law, James Garves and Bob Olson; brothers, LaVerne and Nicholas Antony; and a sister and brother-in-law, Emily (Ross) Briant; a sister-in-law, Helen Antony; and brothers-in-law, Leo Hemmersbach and Gordon Jensen.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Tomah. The Very Rev. Steven J. Kachel will officiate. Family and friends are invited for visitation on Friday, Dec. 11, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Torkelson Funeral Home in Tomah. Family and friends are also invited for visitation on Saturday at 9:30 a.m. at the church.
Torkelson Funeral Home of Tomah is assisting the family with arrangements.
