    Obituary:
    Gertrude M. Van Rossum, age 87, passed away on Sunday evening, Sunday, July 25, 2010, at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was born on February 25, 1923, in DePere, daughter of the late Martin and Mary (Peters) Thyssen. Gert had been employed at Appleton Medical Center in their housekeeping department for many years until her retirement. She enjoyed life and had a great sense of humor. Every one of her grandchildren was considered her "favorite."
    She is survived by her five children: Mary (Dan) Loos, Donna (Myron) Schuette, Ken (Cher) McDaniel, Gordy (Linda) McDaniel, and Steve (Ann) McDaniel; eleven grandchildren: Melissa, Sheila, Jen, Kyle, Sean, Abbie, Natalie, Aaron, Craig, Ketty, and Chris; nineteen great-grandchildren; a sister, Florence Lemmen. Gert is further survived by the Henry Van Rossum family, numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives including Jim and Betty McDaniel as well as Jane and Dave George.
    Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband Henry Van Rossum, former husband Victor McDaniel, a son Carl, and a granddaughter, Sarah.
    Funeral services for Gert will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 at the BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna (920-766-2099) with Deacon Steve VandeHey officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery in Wrightstown. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.

    Mary J. Mc Daniel Loos, Darboy, age 71, died Sunday October 27, 2013 at her home. She was born in De Pere on March 1, 1942 to the late Gertrude (Thyssen) Mc Daniel. Mary wed Daniel Loos on June 13, 1964 at Holy Cross Parish in Kaukauna. She worked at Larry's Piggly Wiggly until her retirement. Mary enjoyed time spent on her treadmill, walking outdoors and "going to Curves". Her home was her love and she took great pride in taking care of it. Mary also enjoyed visiting Door County, especially Peninsula State Park.
    Mary is survived by her husband of 49 years, Daniel; children: Melissa (Gary) Verkuilen, Kaukauna and Kyle, Neenah; grandsons: Josh (Sarah) and Nate Verkuilen; siblings: Donna (Myron) Schuette, Ken (Cher), Steve (Ann) and Gordy (Linda) Mc Daniel; and brother-in-law: Craig "Skip" (Ellen Braunberger) Loos. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to her mother, Mary was preceded in death by her infant brother, Carl Mc Daniel; father and mother-in-law, Oscar and Florence Loos; and niece, Sarah.
    Visitation will be held Friday November 1, 2013 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 4:30 p.m. until the time of service at 7:30 p.m. Deacon Steven Vande Hey will officiate. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com. A memorial is being established.
