    Obituary:
    Ellsworth V. Vann, age 97, passed away on May 27, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay, WI.
    Ellsworth was born in Green Bay on December 7, 1918, to the late Louis (Mike) & Myrtle (Stutleen) Vannieuwenhoven.
    After graduation from Green Bay West High School, he served with the U.S. Army during World War II in the European Theatre of Operations. He married Alice Pagels on July 2, 1949, in Michigan City, Indiana. He owned and operated Meadow Gardens for 24 years, and was in real estate development for 28 years. He was the first secretary in the formation and building of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church. He was a member of the Ashwaubenon School Board during the establishment of Ashwaubenon High School and was a member of the Agency School Committee #9, for the Department of Public Instruction.
    Ellsworth is survived by his eight children, Edward (Bonnie), De Pere, Russell (Linda), De Pere, Marie (Richard) Rippl, Appleton, Alan (Kathy), De Pere, Elaine Writt, Ashwaubenon, Robert (Machelle), De Pere, Wayne (Gail), Green Bay, Joann (Jeff) Boettcher, Green Bay; 18 grandchildren; and 8 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Jackie Pagels, Longmont, CO and special cousin, Justin (Stan) (Lisa) Vannieuwenhoven, Sint-Joris-Weert, Belgium.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice in 2004; his parents; sisters, Gladys VanRite, Myrtle Kriescher and Dorothy Vanniewenhoven; brothers, Lawrence Vanniewenhoven, who died at birth, Clyde Vanniewenhoven and Howard Vann; sisters-in-law, Margaret Vanniewenhoven, Lorraine Vann, Doris Wendt and Christa Pagels; brothers-in-law, Ray VanRite, Clifford Kriescher, Roger Pagels, Richard Pagels and Albert Wendt.
    A Memorial Mass will be held on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 from 9:30 am until time of the funeral mass at 11:30 am at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida Street with Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Burial will be at Fort Howard Memorial Park. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
