    DEATH OF MRS. WINDELS
    It came suddenly at Kaukauna.
    Kaukauna, Wis. - Feb 5. - Mrs. Augusta Windels funeral was held this afternoon at 2 o'clock from the home of her daughter, Mrs. William Martin on Taylor St, where she died Sunday from pneumonia at the age of 76 years. Her death came quite suddenly after she began complaining of a distress in her chest and shortness of breath, being sick only three days. Mrs. Windels maiden name was Augusta Bosa and her native town was Voorst Fallen, Germany, where in 1858 she was married to William Windels. They came to America in 1868, settling at West Bend, Wis., where they remained for one year and then came to Appleton, where they have resided ever since. Mr. Windels died suddenly last Thanksgiving of heart disease. Mrs. Windels had been recently making her home with her daughter, Mrs. Martens. Surviving are three daughters, all living in Kaukauna - Mrs. Marie Hurtenbach, Mrs. Augusta Struever, and Mrs. Matilda Martens and two sons, Charles Windels of appleton and Henry Windels of Green Bay. Rev. Theodore Marth of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Appleton, had charge of the funeral service and the interment was at Union Cemetery by the side of her husband and daughter who died several years ago.

    Mrs. Peter Hurtenbach 77, 202 Klein St, Kaukauna, died at 12:10 this morning at her home after a lingering illness. Born in Germany Oct 19, 1860, she came to the United States when she was eight years old, settling in Appleton. She moved to Kaukauna at the time of her marriage 56 years ago. She and her husband operated the Arlington Hotel on Third St. in Kaukauna for many years. She was a member of the Women's Benefit Association and the Ladies Aid Society of the First Congressional Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Herman Weirauch, Kaukauna; one son, William, Miami, Fl; two sisters, Mrs. W.F. Martens, Green Bay; Mrs Albert Struever, Oshkosh; seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The body will be at Greenwood funeral chapel this evening.

    Wyro, Carl E.Carl E. Wyro, Shawano, formerly of Kaukauna, passed away on Tuesday, Octob er 4, 2005, at a Shawano area nursing home. Carl was born in Kaukauna on S eptember 12, 1916, son of the late Herman and Mathilda (Hurtenbach) Wyr o. Carl will be missed by his brother, sisters and other family members w ho always enjoyed their visits with him. He will be remembered in their he arts always.His loving family includes: a brother, Peter (Louise) Wyro of Bishop, Texa s; two sisters: Beverly Spillmier of Whiting, Indiana; and Helen Pano sh of Manitowoc; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and frie nds.He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Elmer (Rita) Wyro, sis ters: Marie (Otto) Riske and Lorraine (Norbert) Brogan Stromila, and broth ers-in-law: Victor Spillmier, Joseph Panosh, Walter Brogan, and Frank Gray .Funeral services for Carl will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 8, 200 5, at the funeral home chapel with Mr. Peter Wyro officiating. Interment w ill follow at Union Cemetery in Kaukauna. The family will receive relativ es and friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 9 a.m. until the ho ur of the services. FARGO FUNERAL HOME
