    Obituary:
    Geraldine M. Van Staten, age 82, Shiocton passed away on Monday, September 16, 2013, at St. Joseph Residence, New London. Geraldine was born on March 15, 1931, at home in New London daughter of the late Henry and Clara (Hummel) Korth. On June 18, 1952, she married Roger Van Straten and the union was blessed for 61 years and four sons. She was a life long member of St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton. Geraldine loved to cook and spend time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her cheerful spirit and smiling face will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
    Geraldine is survived by her husband Roger; three sons: Bruce; Dean (Tami); children, Trevor, Dylan, and Hunter; Kevin (Kim); children, Miranda (Jeff Collar), Jamee Lyn, and Derek, and a daughter in-law, Tonya Van Straten; children, Zachary and Shane (Kara); 4-great-grandchildren: Braden and Brent Collar and Tenlee and Toby Van Straten.
    She was preceded in death by her eldest son Steven, who she missed dearly and is now reunited with.
    The Mass of Christian burial for Gerry will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church, Shiocton with Rev. Msgr. Dennis Lally officiating. Friends may call at the church on Friday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
    Our family would like to thank the many nurses and aides from St. Joseph Residence and Heartland Hospice for all the care and concern shown to Gerry at her time of need. We will always remember your kindness.
    May the perpetual light shine upon her.

    Kenneth Emil Korth, age 79, of Appleton, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Pine Manor. Ken was born on January 11, 1934, son of the late Elmer and Wilma Korth. He was the third oldest of nine children.
    Ken attended St. Paul Lutheran grade school in Appleton, where he was baptized and confirmed. At age 17, he entered the United States Marine Corp engaging in heavy fighting in the Korean War and also served in Japan. After the war, Ken spent the majority of his working life as a carpenter in California. Ken was also an avid sports fan. He loved the Packers, Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Braves.
    Ken is survived by his brothers, William "Bill" Korth and Howard (Milly) Korth. He is further survived by his sister-in-law, Sandy Korth; his aunt, Grace Vander Hieden; his favorite niece Jo Hanna Helein; his best friends, Dick and Mariot Williams; as well as many other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son Joe; his daughter, Bea; his sisters Ruth Koepke, Dorothy Koepke, and Norita (Joseph) Glasheen; and brothers Elmer Korth, Donald Korth and Roger Korth.
    A memorial service for Ken will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 23, 2013, at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME DOWNTOWN (537 N. Superior Ave) with Rev. Mark Henke officiating.     Elmer F. Korth, age 76, of Appleton, passed away at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, Wisconsin, on Monday, April 30, 2012. Elmer was born on November 5, 1935, in Appleton, to the late Elmer O. and Wilma (Vander Heiden) Korth. Elmer was employed at Neenah Foundry for over 35 years. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Elmer was a loving father and grandfather. He was a former ARA Little League baseball coach and enjoyed attending Appleton Foxes games, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
    Survivors include his children, Elmer J. Korth, New London; Cindy Waller, New London; Chris (Nancy) Korth, Waupaca; Tim (Terry) Korth, New London; and George (Anh Dihn) Korth, New London; his former spouse, Shirley Pieper; his grandchildren, Ryan Korth, Travis Korth, Sara (Fiancé Nick Leon) Korth, Paul Korth, Sylvie Dihn; his brothers, Kenneth Korth, Howard (Millie) Korth and William Korth; and his sister-in-law, Sandy Korth. Elmer was preceded in death by his son, Andrew; his siblings, Norita (Joseph) Glasheen, Dorothy Koepke, Ruth Koepke, Donald Korth and Roger Korth; his daughter-in-law, Suzann Korth: and his son-in-law, Dick Waller.
    Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 3, 2012, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 North Morrison St. Appleton, with Rev. Kenneth L. Frey officiating. Friends may call at the Wichmann Funeral Home, Appleton, on Wednesday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and again directly at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Military Honors will be observed at the cemetery. A memorial has been established in Elmer's name to benefit St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church.     William C. "Bill" Korth, age 76, formerly of Jacksonville, Illinois, passed away at Cherry Meadows, Appleton, on Thursday, August 15, 2013. Bill was born on February 12, 1937, in Appleton, to the late Elmer and Wilma (Vander Heiden) Korth, the fifth oldest of nine children. He attended St. Paul Lutheran grade school in Appleton, where he was baptized and confirmed. Bill was a long-time employee of Carnation Dairy in Jacksonville, Illinois. Bill was an avid NASCAR fan, drove stock car at the former Outagamie Speedway and enjoyed working on and restoring automobiles.
    Survivors include his children, Trisk (Angelena) Korth, CheriLyn (John) McBride, and Brittany (Danny) Walker; his grandchildren, Brennan and Cody Korth; AryAhna and Tayah McBride; and Nikkolas, Serenity, Khiara and Peyton Walker; and Elijah Breck; and his great grandson, Greyden, all of the Branson, Missouri, area. Bill is further survived by his brother, Howard (Milly) Korth; his sister-in-law, Sandy Korth; his aunt Grace Vander Heiden; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Breck; his grandson Devin Korth; his sisters, Ruth Koepke, Dorothy Koepke and Norita (Joseph) Glasheen; his brothers, Elmer, Donald, Roger and Kenneth Korth.

    Roger Korth, 64, Kimberly, passed away Thursday, Aug. 27, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton. Roger was born in Appleton on May 26, 1945, son of the late Elmer and Wilma (Vander Heiden) Korth. On Nov. 6, 1965, he married Sandra Stutzman at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Black Creek. Roger proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, was the owner and operator of Blue Mist Distributing and retired from Jack's Maintenance in Neenah. He was a member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church and enjoyed following the Brewers, Packers and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Everyone will remember Roger's love for his red Dodge truck.
    He is survived by his wife, Sandy Korth; two children, Darwin (April) Korth and Tammy (special friend, Mike Alt) Bacon; seven grandchildren, Travis, Jennifer, Russell, Ashly, Kirsten, Alexis and Logan; three great-grandchildren, Danial, Vanessa and Curtis; four brothers, Elmer Korth, Howard (Millie) Korth, Ken Korth and Bill Korth; special friends, Rosanne Korth, Kari Wheeler, Jon Bacon and Steve Sleik; a special niece, Debbie Lindsey; as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    Roger was preceded in death by his sisters, Norita, Ruth and Dorothy; and his brother, Don.
    The Christian Funeral for Roger will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 31, 2009, at ST. PAUL EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 302 N. Morrison Street in Appleton. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.

    Steven A. Van Straten, 54, Shiocton, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2007, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. Steve was born Sept. 25, 1953, in New London, son of Roger and Geraldine Van Straten. He was united in marriage to Tonya Lou Case on September 4, 1981. Steve worked as a supervisor the majority of his life in underground construction, finishing his career with Van Straten Construction. He served his country in the Army from 1971-1974 during the Vietnam Era and was a member of the Shiocton Post 512 American Legion. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved to hunt and fish and will forever be remembered for his contagious laugh.
    Survivors include his wife Tonya; parents, Roger and Geraldine Van Straten, Shiocton; mother and father-in-law, Casey and Elvie Lou Case, Winter, Wis.; sons; Zachary (fiance Heather Suprise), Shiocton; and Shane (special friend Kara Meyer), Shiocton; brothers, Bruce Van Straten, Shiocton; Dean (Tamara) Van Straten, Shiocton; and Kevin (Kim) Van Straten, Shiocton. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
    Funeral services for Steve will be held Tuesday Oct. 30, 2007, at 11a.m. at St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton. Friends and family may call at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Shiocton, Monday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service and at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Denis Cemetery in Shiocton.
    Steve was an inspiration to all of us with his strong will and determination to fight. From the initial diagnosis he was positive, strong and worried more about those around him than himself. He loved and was loved by many. He will be deeply missed.
    On behalf of Steven, the family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital and Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology. Also to everyone who took the time to send a card, call, and offered their prayers and support during this time.
