    Rankin, Bernice Bernice J. Rankin, 90, Green Bay resident, passed away on Feb. 29, 2012 at Rennes Health Center. She was born on Oct. 25, 1921 in Green Bay to the late Alex and Rose (Befay) Rankin. She was a secretary at Liebmann Packing until 1970 and then at Morley Murphy until retiring at the end of 1983. Bernice was a member of St. Willebrord Parish and a member of the Daughters of Isabella Circle #574. In her younger days, Bernice enjoyed bowling in leagues and traveling throughout the United States. She was a graduate of East High School. Survivors include three nieces and one nephew: Rosemarie (Dennis) Schmidt and their children, Robert (Theresa) Schmidt, Tracy (Curtis) Van Erem; Marian (David) Carpenter-Guyot and her daughter Michelle Carpenter, step-daughters Dana (Herb) Kaiser, Justine (Jonathan) Goode, Liz (Larry) Purcell; Ruth (John) Van Laanen and her son Shaun (Amy) Cherry, step-daughter Stacey Spencer, stepson Clinton Van Laanen; William (Barbara) Rankin and their daughter Tiffany (Daniel) Hackert, son Nicholas Rankin; and many wonderful great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, and her brother and sister-in-law, Robert (Kathryn) Rankin. Friends may call at Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E.     Dora DeKeyser, 99, our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away on March 11, 2007, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Maynard Destree, where she had resided for the past ten years. She was born in Brussels, Wis. on Oct. 12, 1907, to Elmond and Annias (Neuville) De Decker. On June 28, 1927, she married Clarence De Keyser in Misiere. They owned and operated a dairy farm in Namur and moved to Green Bay in 1977. He preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 1990. She was a member of Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and the Ladies Altar Society.
    Besides her daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by four grandchildren, David (Lori) Destree, Dawn (Alan) DeBauche, Dale (Laura) Destree, Dean (Michelle) Destree; five great-grandchildren, Mathew and Erin Destree, Jordan Collins, Ryan and Shailey Destree, all of Green Bay; one brother-in-law, Elmer Vandertie, Green Bay; two sisters-in-law, Florence De Decker, Sturgeon Bay; and Eunice De Keyser, St. Ignace, Mich.; many nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; brothers and sister-in-law, Gilbert (Lucy) DeDecker and Elmer DeDecker; sisters and brothers-in-law, Mabel (Edward) Tremble, Marie (Randall) Charles, Anne Vandertie, Helen (Oscar) Muenster; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Myrtle (Raymond) Babler, George DeKeyser Jr., Lema (John) Prevost, Louisea (Henry Simon) (Frank) Mott, Elizabeth DeKeyser and Anna DeKeyser.

    Mrs. Ralph (Marjorie) Schubring, 84, Appleton, died Monday, January 7, 2008. She was born October 10, 1923, to the late Frank and Mary (Bero) De Decker in Appleton, Wisconsin. On July 5, 1943, she married Ralph Schubring in Kaukauna; he preceded her in death February 11, 2003. Marjorie was a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church, the ladies aid altar committee and was active in the missionary league.
    Survivors include three daughters: Carol Pete, Rockford, Illinois; Janet (Jerry) O'Keefe, Tennessee; and Jo Anne (Dave) Vannieuwenhoven, Hilbert; a son, Richard Schubring, Athelstine; eleven grandchildren: Scott (Dawn) Mayer; Paula (Ken) Behr; Sara (Tyrone) Francis; Steve (Jackie) Schubring; Debbie Schubring; Jeff (Lori) O'Keefe; Greg (Pat) O'Keef; Matt O'Keefe; Rev.     Ralph De Decker, age 82, of Appleton, passed away at Cherry Meadows Hospice, Appleton, with his family surrounding him on December 18, 2007. Ralph was born on January 5, 1925, in Appleton, to the late Louis and Ada De Decker. He married Priscilla Hamer on September 30, 1944, in Appleton; she preceded him in death on December 6, 2007. Ralph was a 1943 graduate of Appleton High School and proudly served his country as a commissioned navigator in the Air Force during World War II. He was a wire weaver at Appleton Wire Works for 14 years; he later owned and operated a Servicemaster firm for over 44 years. Ralph was active in his church, an enthusiastic supporter of ACES and a member of the steering committee that founded Xavier Catholic High School. He was also active with community service organizations, including the Serra Club, Kiwanis Club of Northside Appleton, Columbus Club and the Right to Life Chapter. Ralph was an active member of the Appleton Chamber of Commerce, serving on the State Legislative Committee in 1969 and on the Chamber's Educational Committee in 1969 and 1970. As a member of the Board of Directors of the Appleton Golden Age Club, he participated in the fundraising efforts for the expansion of the Golden Age Clubhouse along with other projects of the Golden Agers. He also worked on fund drives for the Community Fund, Cystic Fibrosis, and Heart Fund, to name a few. A past Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Council 4802 of Appleton, he served as chairman of various committees in that organization before advancing through the chairs to the position of Grand Knight. Ralph enjoyed fishing, bowling and caring for his apple trees.
    Survivors include his ten children, his 28 grandchildren; his four great-grandchildren; and his two brothers.
    He was preceded in death by a brother, a grandson and a granddaughter.
    The Funeral Liturgy will be at NOON Friday, December 28, 2007, at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette Street, Appleton, with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Friends may call directly at the church on Friday, December 28, 2007, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. John Swanson, Fr. Thomas J.     Jim was born on December 8, 1927 to Edward and Lucy (Rankin) Eick in Appleton. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII as an MP. Jim was united in marriage to Lilah Archambeault on September 17, 1949. He worked at the Kimberly Clark Lakeview Mill for 36 years until his retirement in 1988. Jim enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, spending time with his friends and trips to the casino in Carter and Lac du Flambeau. He liked going up north to the Minocqua area. Jim took great pride in his yard and found pleasure in feeding the squirrels and birds. He was a wonderful caregiver and took responsibility for many family members.     Jim will be dearly missed by his wife of almost 63 years, Lilah Eick, three daughters; Victoria (Wayne) Johnson of Milwaukee, Debra Mickelson of Appleton and Jamie (Ronald) Kersten of Little Chute, five grandchildren; Levi Johnson, Kendra (Michael) Arguello, Jill and Cole Mickelson and Cody Kersten, a sister-in-law, Donna Foxgrover, two special nieces and their families; Lori (Todd) Keating and Cienna and Chenoa, Kari (Steven) McDonald, and Claire and Grant, friend Bruce Mickelson, other relatives and many friends.
    Jim was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Eugene Eick.

    REIMER, Donna Mary January 10, 1927 - June 7, 2016
    Donna passed away peacefully on June 7, 2016 from Alzheimer's Disease at the age of 89. She died in her Tarzana, California home surrounded by loving family. Donna was born in Appleton, Wisconsin, the second daughter of Victor and Genevieve (Zapp) DeDecker.
    She married the love of her life, Gale Reimer on February 14, 1953 (it was a Valentine's Day wedding). They were married for 63 years. Gale, also born in Wisconsin, and Donna established their home in California in 1953 where they raised seven children. Donna had eleven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren that she greatly enjoyed.
    Donna was a devoted wife and partner to her husband, an amazing mother and grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and an unwavering Christian woman of God . As a devout Catholic she was a trusted friend, spiritual confidant and strength for many, young and old alike. She served as the greatest example of the importance of self- sacrifice and placing others before one's own needs. She received the Benemerenti Award in 1999 from Pope John Paul II for her devotion and service to the Catholic Church. Her faith in God was the compass of her life, a faith embraced by all of her children.
    Donna was active with and served the catholic church as a volunteer on numerous fronts, specifically at Our Lady of Grace parish in Encino where all seven of her children attended. She and Gale gifted the parish with their time, talents, and an unending commitment to help with whatever was needed. She greatly valued the close friends she made there over so many years.
    Donna had a great love for painting and crafts and shared her paintings with her children. She and Gale had so many interests including travel, baseball, music and sharing the holidays with their family.
    We will greatly miss Donna's unmatched sense of humor, endless energy, her determination and perseverance to do what is right by God, her beautiful and unique green eyes, her ability to make us laugh in the midst of difficulties, but most of all her full encompassing love for her family.
    Donna is survived by her husband Gale Reimer, seven children: Neil Reimer of Honolulu, HI (m. Carol Jackson), Therese Reimer Agnew of Porter Ranch, CA (m.     Thomas J."Tom" DeDecker, Appleton, age 68, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born in Appleton on June 23, 1942, the son of the late Walter and Cecilia (White) DeDecker. Tom was proud to serve in the United States Navy. He worked for the U.W. System as a Power Engineer and had an interest in automobiles. Tom will be remembered for his social nature.

    Barbara J. "Barb" Fuerst, Appleton, 57, passed away Saturday, Aug. 11, 2007, at her home. Barb was born Feb. 9, 1950, in Appleton, the daughter of Walter and Cecilia (White) DeDecker. She graduated from Appleton West High School. On Nov. 7, 1970, Barb was united in marriage to James "Jim" Fuerst, at St. Therese Catholic Church, and together they were blessed with three children, Steve, Michael and Tammy. She was a terrific mother, and enjoyed her flowers, shopping and her dogs, Molly, Winnie, and Katie.
    Barb is survived by her husband, Jim; her children, Steve Fuerst, Michael (Danielle) Fuerst, and their daughter, Enya, and their expectant twin daughter and son; and Tammy (William) Woulf, all of Appleton; her sisters and brothers, Myrna (Marvin) Griesbach, Appleton; Thomas DeDecker, Menasha; Michael DeDecker, Ohio and Sue (Ned) Wittman, Kimberly.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Joseph, and infant sister, Carolyn.
    The funeral mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2007, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, 312 South State Street, with Fr. Michael O'Rourke as celebrant. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of mass directly at the church. She will be laid to rest in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. A memorial fund is being established in Barb's name.

    Michael Shebilske was welcomed into the arms of his Savior unexpectedly on June 3rd, 2012. Mike was born in Appleton on March 16, 1964 to Lawrence and Eileen Shebilske.
    Mike could often be found outside doing yard work, working on cars or enjoying a good laugh with one of our wonderful neighbors. He had a natural talent in woodworking that started when he was in junior in high school. After moving back to the Appleton area in 2003, he pursued woodworking on a more professional level. His handiwork can be seen in kitchens, bedrooms, dens, and the list goes on. Mike's talents were not limited to woodworking; he had his master's degree in computer science and worked at AT&T Bell Laboratories/Lucent Technologies as a software developer for 14 years. Last year Mike decided to get back into the IT field and began teaching as an adjunct instructor at Rasmussen College in Appleton.
    Mike had a great love for his family. He was very active with his children by coaching Park and Rec. baseball, helping with Tech Squad, camping and fishing. He always was there to help others and his many skills will be greatly missed. Mike will be forever missed by his wife, Lori, his children, Ashley (Alex) Salmon, Jason and Jacob. Mike recently welcomed his first grandchild, Lydia Rose Salmon into this world on May 30th. He only got to hold her for a short time, but will forever be in her heart. Mike is also survived by his mother, Eileen, his brothers, Wayne (Joan), Gary (Diane), Kevin (Tina), Mark Shebilske and sister Sheila (Dennis) Gloede, his father and mother in law, Kenneth and Yvonne Klein, brother-in-laws, Kevin (Cindy) and Steve (Gretchen) Klein. He had numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his father Lawrence and his brother Steve.
    A funeral service for Mike will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at MOUNT OLIVE EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 930 E. Florida Ave., Appleton with the Rev. Joel Zank officiating. Family and friends may visit at Valley Funeral Home on Friday from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. and again on Saturday at the church from 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. Interment will take place in Dale Union Cemetery.     A special thanks goes out to his neighbors who were always there for him, even at the end. He will miss the outdoor activities and an occasional game of cards with special friends, Joe and Traci Loftus.

    Cody Gray Kersten, 29, was killed in a motorcycle accident on July 28, 2017. He is the youngest son of Ronald and Jamie Kersten, Little Chute, WI. He is survived by two brothers: Ron Jr. FL, daughters Neve and Olivia, granddaughter Annistyn Mae; and Cory (Korri) Freedom, sons Noah, Liam and Cody's God-daughter Zoe; his loving grandma Lilah Eick; and devoted daughter Raylin.
    Cody was a hard-working, mechanically inclined man who enjoyed working at their shop with his Dad. He was proficient in electrical and hydraulic installation, welding and fabrication. His job at Monroe Truck gave him great satisfaction modifying and completing custom trucks. From his childhood, Cody loved doing anything with wheels, tracks or waves. He always had a notebook filled with drawings and ideas, building his first boat at 11yrs of age. He willingly set aside his projects and builds to help someone else with theirs. He was active with his car, boat, trucks, bikes, snowmobiles, four wheelers, rock climbers, mud trucks, demo derbies, helping buddies at the races, and loved tractor pulls, taking 3rd place (after two tractors) with his beloved dually just two nights before his death.
    He generously made time for other people's children and loved animals. He was kind-hearted, loving, compassionate and always ready to help family and friends. Anyone who knew Cody knew they had someone to count on. He did the right thing because it was the right thing to do and never wanted recognition for his help. Cody's infectious, engaging, quick, gentle smile warmed every encounter. His warm, comforting, genuine hugs were extraordinary. Cody was a true free spirit who lived life to the fullest and made friends of all ages everywhere he went.
    Cody's creed was Stand Tall Walk Tall which meant stand your ground for what you believed in, learn, teach, don't give up and help whenever you can.
    He worked hard for everything he acquired and did not want to accept help from others. While planning the medical benefit for the bills from his accident in June 2016, caused by an unlicensed, uninsured woman, Cody only agreed if we pay it forward and spread helmet awareness knowing his helmet saved his life last year. His benefit was held as scheduled (only 1 week after his death) and we wish he could have seen all the children's heads we covered by giving away helmets that day. Our hope is to get kids in the habit of wearing a helmet now so they will do so always. His legacy will live on as we will continue to promote #teamcody Helmet: Every. Single. Time.
    During his difficult recovery from the 2016 motorcycle accident, he came to know the Lord on a deeper level and saw that God had a plan for him. God certainly used him to show us the value of persistence in dealing with the tough and unexpected parts of life. God also used our Cody to demonstrate how to love others well. He made a huge impact on many people in just 29yrs. Cody will live on not only in our hearts and memories but also in his decision to participate in the organ donation program which will help numerous others.
    His life was enriched by so many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends so numerous we could fill the page if listing them all. Please know we are grateful to each of you for your role in shaping his life.
    Cody was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earl and Annie Kersten and James Eick; and uncle, Tom Kersten.
    Miss you Daddy. Love you forever and always.
    He was an amazing young man. Our days have darkened now without our Sonshine. Until we meet again, Love you more. Let's all try to live by his motto: "Stand Tall Walk Tall"
    Service to honor him will be August 24th 2017 at First United Methodist Church, 325 E. Franklin Street, Appleton WI 54911. Enter at the main doors on Drew Street. Visitation will begin at 5pm with the service at 7pm. Pastor Liz Whitford presiding. Desserts in the Fellowship Hall to follow. No flowers or plants please.
