    Obituary:
Lois passed away peacefully at Providence Terrace Villas March 31, 2011, at the age of 80. Born March 21, 1921,(ERROR) in Kaukauna, WI, to Max and Ida (Heise) Mahn. As a young girl she loved watching classical movies and liked collecting autographed pictures of famous stars from the movies. As a teenager she loved playing baseball and bowling. She graduated from Kaukauna high school in 1948, then went on to attend technical college for photography. She loved taking pictures of anything and everyone. She worked at Thilmany for a short time in the 1950's until she and a few friends ventured to California. That trip sparked the love of travel for Lois. That was just the beginning. In 1960, she married Leroy "Boomer" Kuse. Together they loved to travel and had seen Alaska and Canada as well as almost every one of the 50 states. Lois' dream was to see a Broadway play and in the 1990's they decided to travel the East Coast and end up in New York to see a Broadway play. They celebrated 40 years of marriage until his death in 2000. Lois was a very loving person that would never let a person leave her without getting a hug or a kiss. She never complained about the little things in life and lived life to the fullest with special friend Max, her dog whom she loved dearly.
Special thanks to the staff at Providence Terrace Villas for the special care of Lois. She was especially close to Melanie, Roxy, and Rachel. They treated her with dignity and love. Special thanks goes out to the staff at Asceracare Hospice.
Though she never had children, she is survived by lots of nieces and nephews whom she considered her children.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Dorothy Carnot, Florence Heindel, Lucille Mahn, Jane Parrett, and Ruth Nuthals; and her brothers, Roy, Harvey, and Norman Mahn.
Survivors include Bill and Rose Kohl, Janice Subert, Joyce Damsheuser, and Don and Florence Kostka. A funeral service for Lois will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. Jeffrey Suhr officiating. Following the service there will be a luncheon at the funeral home. Family and friends may visit at the funeral home on Monday from 9 - 11 a.m. Burial will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in her name.
