    George Lau, Thilmany Employee, Dies Sunday
    Kaukauna - George Lau, 49, an employee of the Thilmany Pulp and Paper company for the last 30 years, died unexpectedly at 1:30 Sunday morning at his home on route, 2 following a paralytic stroke. Born in Freedom in 1889, he moved to Kaukauna 20 years ago and lived here since. He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran church and of the Pulp and Papermakers union.
    Survivors are the widow; three daughters. Miss Florence Lau, at home, Mrs. Urban Gerrits, route 2, Kaukauna, and Mrs. Otto Zastrow, Kaukauna: one brother. Otto, Milwaukee; three sisters, Hulda, Ella and Edna, all of Freedom; four grandchildren.
    Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Wednesday afternoon at the residence and at 2 o'clock at Trinity Evangelical church with the Rev. Paul Th. Oehlert in charge. Burial will be in Lutheran cemetery.
    The body will be at the home from this afternoon to the time of the funeral.

    CHILD KNOCKED DOWN BY CAR IS RECOVERING
    Kaukauna - Little Lorraine Lau. 7 year-old daughter of Mr .and Mrs. George Lau. rural route 2. Kaukauna was reported to be recovering from her injuries late Monday evening. The girl was hit by a car belonging to Cornelius Van Epern as she stepped out of another car which had stopped in front of her home. The accident occurred on the town line road about two blocks north of the city limits. Van Epern lives about two miles further down the road. The entire body of the little girl is badly bruised. although there are no broken bones or internal injuries. Doctors say she is out of danger.

    GIRL STRUCK BY AUTOMOBILE DIES
    7-year-old Child Succumbs to Injuries Suffered Two Weeks Ago
    Kaukauna - Lorraine Hulda Lau. 7, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George Lau, Route 2, died at Appleton at 7 o'clock Wednesday morning from injuries in an automobile accident a week ago last Sunday. The girl was getting out of an automobile in front of her home, a block north of the city limits on the town line road and was crossing the road to her home when a car driven by Cornelius Van Epern hit her. She was taken to St. Elizabeth hospital and inflammation set in her head. She is survived by her parents, three sisters. Zelma, Wilma and Florence, all at home. The funeral services will be held from the home at 1:30 Saturday afternoon and at 2 o'clock at the Lutheran church with the Rev. Paul T. Oehlert in charge. Interment will be in the Lutheran cemetery.
    Honorary pall bearers will be Renada Gehrke, Mildred Bollack, Gerald Rogers and Lucille Hildebrandt. The bearers are to be Albert Bollack, Clifford
    Roger, Gilbert Arps and Lester Luedke.

He was born September 19, 1944 in Kaukauna, son of the la te Urban and Selma (Lau) Gerrits. George married the former Marian Bie se in 1971, she survives him. George is also survived by 3 daughters a nd 2 sons-in-law; Mary (Kevin) Tepp, Vicki (Jeff) Kerry, Gwen Marquard t, 2 very special grandsons, Charlie and Trent Marquardt, 2 brothers, Urb an (Gretchen) Gerrits, Jerome "Mouse" Gerrits, 2 sisters, Jo Ann Muelle r, Barb (Dick) De Groot. He is further survived by his wife's family; Magg ie (Ray) Coenen, Elaine (Robert) Schmidt, Dorothy (Tim) Vande Wettering, E velyn (Robert) Verhasselt, Leo (Irene) Biese, Robert (Nora) Biese, numero us nieces and nephews. George was preceded in death by his parents, his mo ther-in-law and father-in-law, Frank and Clara Biese and a brother-in-la w, Lee Mueller. A memorial service will be held at 11 am Saturday at the B oettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna with Deacon Je rry Kuborn officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 10 am Sa turday until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund h as been established in his name.The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Geller and his staff and the nur ses of 4 South at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their ongoing care and concer n.

    LaVonne S. Weyland, age 74, passed away on Thursday, February 17, 2011, at Oakridge Gardens. She was born on September 30, 1936, in Appleton, daughter of the late Otto and Wilma (Lau) Zastrow. On August 27, 1955, she married James Weyland and the marriage was blessed with six children and 35 years before he preceded her in death on March 20, 1991. LaVonne enjoyed painting and fixing up her house, tractor pulls, and bowling. She loved the Redhatters. And most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.
    She will be sadly missed by her daughters: Vicky Weyland, Neenah, Debbie (Gary) Foth, Neenah; her sons: David Sr. (Lori) Weyland, Neenah, Jay (Mary) Weyland, Winchester, Cory (Sig. other Jenny) Weyland, Menasha; her grandchildren: Sarah, Melissa, Andria, Kimberly, Brianna, David Jr., Bradley, Makenzie, Candice, Jodie, James, Cassie; and a great granddaughter, Isabelle; her sisters: Carol Hoag, Appleton, Karen Zastrow, Appleton; brothers: Eldor (Jo) Zastrow, Center Valley, Dennis Zastrow, TX, Eugene (Jane) Zastrow; and several nieces and nephews.
    In addition to her parents and loving husband James, she was preceded in death by her son, Kelsey, and three brothers: Mike, Richard, and Kenny.
    The Christian Funeral Service for LaVonne will be on Monday, February 21, 2011, at 11 a.m. at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Meier officiating. Friends will be received at the church on Sunday, February 20, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again on Monday from 10 a.m. until the hour of service. Interment will be in Resthaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in her name.

    Eugene "Geno" Zastrow, 70, passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2015.
    Geno was born on May 28, 1945 to Otto and Wilma (Lau) Zastrow in Appleton. On October 26, 1973 he was united in marriage to Jane Lom in Appleton. He worked for many years as a union laborer with Local 330 until his retirement. Geno enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and traveling. He also liked to go to his hunting land and he always had a project he was working on. Spending time with his family was always special and those memories will always be cherished.
    Geno is survived by his wife, Jane, his daughter Tanya (Shane) Stone, two grandchildren; Trey Schmitz and Kendall "Puts" Stone, a sister Carol Hoag, a brother Elder Zastrow , nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Geno was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter Danielle Stone, three brothers; Richard Sr., Mike, and Kenny and a sister LaVonne Weyland.
    The funeral service for Geno will be held on Tuesday, July 28, 2015 at 6:00 PM at the WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME. A time of visitation will be held on Tuesday from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

    James "Jim" L. Beahm, age 70, of Kaukauna, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, March 15, 2017. He was born on January 23, 1947, son of the late Clifford and Florence (Lau) Beahm. On August 25, 1972, Jim married Diane Verbeten at Trinity Lutheran Church in Kaukauna.
    Jim worked for AT&T for 40 years before his retirement. He enjoyed reading and working in his yard. Most of all, Jim loved spending time with his grandchildren and attending their activities. He was very proud of his children and grandchildren, they were his life.
    Jim is survived by his loving wife, Diane; his children: Mark (Sarah) Beahm, Jenny (Eric) Schneider and Lisa (Scott) Parker; his precious grandchildren: Paige and Brooke Beahm, Casey, Annabel and Mason Schneider, Avery, Peyton and Olivia Parker; siblings: Pat Brault, Cheryl (Jim) Van Stiphout and Lori Beahm; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Jim was preceded in death by his parents; father and mother-in-law, James and Rosella Verbeten; a brother-in-law, Leon Brault; nephews: Joshua Verbeten and Mark Kiar.

    Seymour - Lisa Marie Gerrits, age 53 died peacefully with her family at her side on Monday August 13th 2018. Lisa was born in Fond du lac Wisconsin to Urban and Gretchen Gerrits. She proudly graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay in Environmental Science and worked for Schneider National for 22 years.
    Lisa currently resided in Seymour WI and shared her passion for life with all she met. Her joy for life was contagious and blossomed in her talents as an artist and a Chef. She was known by others through her constant curiosity, quick wit and daily "God Moments".
    Lisa is survived and remembered by her daughter Jessica K. Johnson, her parents, brother Brian (Peggy) Gerrits and her special niece and nephews, Lilly, Joe and Timmy Gerrits. Her infectious smile and generous heart is remembered by extended family, many friends and co-workers.
    The memorial service for Lisa will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior St., Appleton). Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Lisa's name.
