    Lawrence Rothe "Larry", age 94, of Appleton, passed away on Tuesday, February 18, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at Appleton Health Care Center. Larry was born February 8th, 1920, son of the late Henry and Matilda Rothe.
    Larry proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II prior to becoming employed by Fox River Bus Lines until 1951. He then worked in the main office of Kimberly Clark Corp for 30 years until his retirement in 1985. In addition to his full time work, he took on many part time jobs to enable him to support his very, very large family. He was a painter, did carpentry, and changed many windows and screens.
    Larry loved "putzing" in his garden, fishing with his family and clipping his hedges. He also loved birds and watching them eat from his feeders and splash in his bird bath. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
    Larry is survived by his "Baby Doll" Doris (Goffard), whom he married on March 23, 1943 at Holy Name Catholic Church. They celebrated 70 years of marriage and lived their entire life in Appleton, where they were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church since 1950.
    He is further survived by a sister, Rosie; a brother, Robert; ten children: Bernadette (James) Arps, Patricia (Mike) Guyette, Lawrence Jr. (Julia), Sue Ann, Michael (Jeannie), Deborah (Mike) Plante, Timothy (Judy), David (Robin), Cinthia (Rick) Harp, Joseph (Nicole); 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, three sisters.
    A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 21, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 222 E. Fremont St., Appleton. Friends may visit at the church in the Sacred Heart Room on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at St. Elizabeth Hospital for their care and compassion. Thanks also to the Appleton Health Care Center staff who greatly helped during Larry's last hours.

    Robert Lee Rothe, age 92, died peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2015 at Brewster Village in Appleton.
    Robert was born on September 23, 1923 in Appleton the son of the late Henry and Mathilda (Haefs) Rothe. Following his education, Robert enlisted in the Navy and served his country during WWII. Robert was united in marriage to Julie his loving wife and she preceded him in death in February 2006. He was formerly employed with Schreiders Automotive Supply of Appleton for several years and retired from Miller Electric as a security guard after a number of years of service. Robert was a member of Bethel Evangelical Lutheran Church of Menasha. He also enjoyed gardening, and traveling with his wife. Robert was a devoted and loving husband to his wife Julie for the last fifteen years of her life as he cared for her during her years with dementia.
    Robert is survived by a sister, Rosemary Urmacher, Waupun; two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Rothe, Neenah; and Doris Rothe, Appleton; and by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephew and friends. He was also preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Helen (Carl) Krause, Lawrence Rothe, Dottie (Bill) Torbeck, Eugene (Marilyn) Rothe, Hank Rothe, Frances Mentzel, Leo Rothe and Melvin Rothe.
    The funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at Valley Funeral Home with the Rev. Samuel Degner officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Robert's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Full military honors will follow the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund is being established for Bethel Lutheran Church or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital .
    Robert's family extends a special thank you to the staff at Brewster Village and to the Staff of Affinity Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion shown unto Robert and his family.

    David James Rothe, 54, New London, died unexpectedly at his home on Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Dave was born Sept. 4, 1953, in Appleton, son of the late Eugene and Marilyn (Helm) Rothe. He was a graduate of Appleton West High School. Dave was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing, his dogs, working on his land and riding his Harley.
    He is survived by his brother, Steve (Irene) Rothe, New London; niece, Barb (Wayne) Miller, Appleton; nephew, Dan Rothe, Appleton; great-niece, Natalie Miller; great-nephew, Trent Miller; special friend, Lou Keddell, Menasha; good buddy, "Rosco" and his family. Further survived by aunts, uncles and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his parents.
    A memorial service will be held 7 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2008, at the Brettschneider-Trettin-Lederer Funeral Chapel with Deacon Patrick Whitcomb officiating. Friends may call directly at the funeral chapel on Monday from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Inurnment will take place at Riverside Cemetery.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
