    Begin Preparations for Resuming Operations as Manders' Body Is Found "With removal of the body of J. Mandels, DePere, from the wreckage of the collapsed portion of the Kimberly- Clark Paper Co. mill at Kimberly rescue work was completed and removal of debris from the wrecked seater room was temporarily halted Manders' body was found at 7:15 Tuesday night near the bottom of the debris, about ten feet from the west wall of the ruined section. His body was paitly immersed in water for several days after the collapse but the pit -was nearly dry when the body removed. It had been, buried in the moist pulp since about 10 last Friday morning. After the body was found the rescue squads were taken out of the pits and the men sent to their home-, to prepare for the work of resuming operations in the mill. With the finding of Slander's body the number of dead in the disaster was increased to nine. The dead are: Otto Krueger. Arthur Brockman. Norbert Goffard. J. Despins. Herman Sprangers. T. Manders. Peter Van Langveldt. Frank. "W. Johnson John Fiers. Eighteen men were more or less severely injured in the wreck but al are rapidly recovering. Some have been discharged from St. Elizabetl hospiital. Employes of the mill reported for work Wednesday morning and-began cleaning up the mill and making re pairs. It was stated by mill officials that operations on some of the ma chines probably will be resumed on Thursday morning. It also was said that shipment of paper from the mil probably will be .started in a day o tuo- During the time the rescue worl was in progress all other activitie, about the mill were completely sus pended and not a wheel was turned nor a nictn employed for any othe purpose than that of removing debris from the wrecked portion. Officials of the Kimberly-Clark Co "Wednesday expressed their sympathj for the sufferers in the accident an>~ their gratitude for and appreciatio; of the "limitless spirit of helpfullnes that has manifested itself on ever hand." "While still under the full weight o the disaster and sorrow which has be fallen our company and its employe of the Kimberly mill we would mak this public expression of our deep ap preciation of the limitless spirit o helpfullness that iias manifested itsel on every hand." the statement said.     Gen Western, age 90, passed away at a local nursing center on Thursday evening, December 20, 2012. She was born at home on February 6, 1922, daughter of the late Leonard and Elizabeth (Janz) Goffard. On October 16, 1943, she married Glenn G. Western; he preceded her in death in 1964. Living with her parents for many years, she dedicated herself to their ongoing care. Gen was also a member of the William Verhagen Post #60 Auxiliary of the American Legion.
    Gen is survived by two children: Guy (Mary Lou) Western of St. Paul, Minnesota and Glenda Western of Kimberly; a brother: William L. Goffard of Kimberly; and a sister: Doris (Lawrence) Rothe of Appleton. Also surviving are Glenn's family: Raymond (Wilma) Western of Illinois, Harvey Western of Wisconsin, Howard Seefeldt of North Dakota, Marian Western of New Mexico, and Nancy Western of Minnesota. Gen was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Glenn in 1964; a brother: Norbert "Nubs" (Florence) Goffard; sisters-in-law: Joan Goffard, Alice Western, Dorothy Seefeldt, Edna (Maurice) Wiles, Nora Western Kliest, Clara Mae Western McKnight; and brothers-in-law: Earl Western, Edward Western, Norman (Doris) Western, Alvin (Bunny) Western, and Mildred (Gordon) Siebert.
    The funeral liturgy for Gen will be held at11:00 AM on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at ST. PAUL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 E. Wallace Street in Combined Locks, with Fr. Andrew Kysely officiating. Private burial will take place at Holy Name Cemetery in Kimberly. The family will receive visitors at the church on Thursday morning for thirty minutes prior to the mass, and then again following the service.     The family would like to extend their sincere thanks to the caregivers who were so wonderful and compassionate: they include everyone at Appleton Health Care Center and Heartland Hospice. We will never forget your kindness.

    Rothe, Doris N (Goffard) 92, Appleton, passed away Friday, Sept. 2, 2016 surrounded by her family. Doris was born April 15, 1924 to the late Leonard and Elizabeth (Janz) Goffard. On March 23, 1943 she married the late Lawrence Rothe. They lived in Appleton raising their 10 children for 71 years. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, the Christian Mother's Society and Homemakers of America. She loved spending time with her 24 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren. She enjoyed cooking and baking her famous banana bread and BBQ chicken. She was so unselfish and patient with all who knew her.
    She will be so missed by her children: Bernadette Arps; Patricia (Mike) Guyette; Lawrence Jr. (Julia; Sueann Rothe; Michael (Jeannie); Deborah (Mike) Plante; Timothy (Judy); David (Robin); Cynthia (Rick) Harp and Joseph and special friend, Laura.
    Doris spent her last years at the Bridges of Appleton where she had nicknames like grandma and beautiful lady. She was spoiled by all the staff as well as her family. We thank them all for their loving care.
    A Mass of Resurrection for Doris will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. Friends may visit the family from 9 - 11 AM Wed. in the Sacred Heart Room at Sacred Heart Church. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established.

    Norbert Goffard, 83, Golden Valley, MN, formerly of Neenah, passed away Sunday, December 11, 2011, at Golden Valley Care Center. He was born October 19, 1927, in Oneida, son of Leonard and Elizabeth (Janz) Goffard. Norbert married Florence Stelow and she preceded him in death December 4, 1971. He was employed at John Strange Paper Company until his retirement. Mr. Goffard was a U.S. Marine Corps and Merchant Marines veteran. Norbert enjoyed being with his family.
    Norbert is survived by his son: Perry (Leann) Goffard, Minneapolis, MN.
    Norbert was also preceded in death by his parents and a son, William Goffard.
    Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 16, 2011, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Fr. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will in St. Margaret Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Norbert's name.

    Kimberly, passed away on Monday, May 20th surrounded by family in the comfort of home at the age of 83. Bill was born June 13, 1929 in Appleton, son of the late Leonard and Elizabeth Goffard (Janz). He was a proud military veteran and avid athlete. On November 13, 1954, he married the late Joan Remillard in Kimberly. He is survived by a large loving family including sons, William Jr. (Karen), Kimberly, and his children Sarah, Sharel, and William III; Bob (Debbie), Darboy, and his children Jamie, Justin, and Jenny; Bruce (Kerry), Kimberly, and his children Jessie, Niki, and Matt; and a daughter Beth Wettstein (Mike Anholzer), Kimberly, and her children Katie and Rosie; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister Doris (Larry) Rothe, Appleton. Bill is further survived by Joan's brother, Paul (Dorothy) Remillard, Negaunee, Michigan, her sister, Pat Tynissma, Jacksonville, North Carolina, and her brother-in-law Ray Hakenjos, Negaunee, Michigan; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends, including all his special friends at Hallmark in Kimberly. He was preceded in death by his parents, his loving wife, and his son Brian "Butch" Goffard; sister Genevieve Western and brother Norbert "Nubs" Goffard, and other in-laws.
    Bill's most cherished times included those at his home "up north" in Lakewood, where he enjoyed his retirement fishing and entertaining family. Bill's grandchildren have so many fond memories up at "the cottage" spending time at Bullfrog and Wheeler Lakes fishing, listening to Brewer games on the radio, riding four-wheelers, and spending countless hours around the fire.     The funeral liturgy for Bill will be held at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at HOLY SPIRIT PARISH- KIMBERLY CAMPUS (600 East Kimberly Ave.) with Fr. David Beaudry officiating.     The family would like to offer our thanks to the many ThedaCare departments and staff for their support in the care of our dad/grandpa. We would also like to thank Mike Anholzer for his support and unbelievable graciousness in opening his heart and his home to all of us. We were all comforted knowing that Dad was in the constant and loving care of his beloved daughter, "Peanut" who devoted her last few months to making sure he was comfortable. For this, we are all forever grateful. He will be missed by all.
