    Chilton Times Aug. 28, 1920
With the sudden death of Jacob Kasper, which occurred at his home in Potter on Tuesday morning, another civil war veteran has been mustered out by the Great Commander. Mr. Kasper had been in poor health for some time but he was able to be up and around. There was no premonition of his death, no one knows when the summons came and when it found by members of his family in the morning he had lapsed into eternal sleep, the result of heart failure.
Jacob Kasper was born in Germany in 1842 and came to this country with other members of the family in 1856, a few years later locating in Rantoul where he owned a large farm just north of Kasper's corners on the Rantoul road. On Sept. 14, 1861 he enlisted in Company A, of the Ninth Wisconsin Infantry, in the town of Rhine, Sheboygan County and served his country faithfully until December 3, 1864 when he was honorably discharged from the service. He was married in 1868 to Clorelda Geyso and he continued to operate his farm until some eight years ago when he retired and moved into the village of Potter. He was an industrious, thrifty farmer well thought of in the neighborhood in which he resided for so many years. He is survived by his widow, two sons and six daughters. One son, Edwin, gave up his life for this country, while serving overseas in the World's War.
The funeral was held today, Friday at Potter from the Reformed church of which he was a member.

Jacob married VonGeyso, Clotilda 19 Dec 1868. Clotilda was born Abt 1847; died Abt 1924; was buried , Free German Cemetery, Potter, Calumet, Wisconsin. [Group Sheet]
