    Obituary:
    Sister Alice Mae Malliet, formerly known as Sister Mark, age 84, a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross, died February 2, 2015 at a local nursing home.
    Alice Mae Malliet was born on May 27, 1930 in Bear Creek, WI, one of twelve children of George and Esther (Suprise) Malliet. She attended St. Mary's Grade School and New London High School. She entered the convent in 1948, professed her vows in 1952, and celebrated her Diamond Jubilee in 2009.
    Sister Alice Mae earned a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education from St. Norbert College, De Pere. She served as a teacher at St. Matthew, Green Bay, St. Joseph, Madison, St. Boniface, De Pere, St. Isidore, Osman, St. Joseph, Marinette, St. Mary, Peshtigo, and St. Jude, Green Bay. Sister Alice Mae served as a ward clerk at several hospitals, was a secretary and receptionist at St. Joseph Retreat House in Bailey's Harbor and at St. Norbert Abbey, and served for a time as Motherhouse Coordinator. In1998 she retired to the Motherhouse.
    Sister Alice Mae will be remembered for her love of Community, crocheting, playing cards, reading and enjoyment of good movies, with "Sound of Music" as her favorite. She kept in contact with family and friends by email and letters. She loved singing and could whistle any tune. One of her favorite sayings when life was challenging was: "Grin and bear it; earn some merit."
    Survivors include the Sisters of St. Francis of the Holy Cross and Associate members; three brothers: George (Florence), New London, Eugene, Kimberly, Durrell (Sue), Wrightstown; sister-in-law: Winifred Welter, Clintonville; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
    Preceding her in death were her parents: George and Esther; five brothers: Julius, Marlin, Donald, Gordon, Roger; two sisters: Grace Cattanach, LaRayne Zeeman; brother-in-law: Carl Zeeman; two sisters-in-law: Bernice and Sandy Malliet.
    Friends may call at St. Francis Convent, 3110 Nicolet Drive, Green Bay on Thursday, February 5 at 4:00 p.m. for the reception of the body and visitation. The Vigil Service will be at 6:30 p.m. at the convent. Visitation for Sister Alice Mae will continue on Friday, February 6 at Holy Cross Church, 3009 Bay Settlement Road, from 9:45 a.m. until the Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m.with Rev. John Kastenholz, O.Praem. presiding. Burial will be in St. Francis Convent Cemetery.
    The Sisters of St. Francis and the family of Sister Alice Mae wish to express their gratitude to the Sisters and staff at St. Francis Convent, the staff at Woodside Lutheran Home, Dr. John Rank and Ashley Wolfgram for their loving care and support

    Roger Malliet, age 73, Appleton, formerly of New London went to his final resting place unexpectedly on May 30, 2011. Roger was born on January 11, 1938, in Bear Creek, the son of George and Esther (Surprise) Malliet. He served his country in the US Navy. On August 25, 1962, Roger married Gladys Stallberg. She preceded him in death in 1982. He worked at Mercury Marine in Fond Du Lac and later was employed at Simmons Juvenile Products in new London.
    Rodger is survived by three brothers: George (Florence) Malliet, New London; Eugene (Marilyn) Malliet, Kimberly and Durrell (Susan) Malliet, Wrightstown; a sister, Alice Malliet, Bay Settlement, Green Bay; as well as several nieces, nephews, close friend, Kathy Rausch and other relatives and friends.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Gladys, Brothers, Marlin, Gordon, Donald, Julius and sisters, Grace and Lorraine.
    Funeral services for Roger will be held on Thursday, June 2, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London with Fr. David Lewis officiating. Burial will be in the Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery, King. Friends may call the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.

    Raymond "Ray" Suprise age 78 of Little Chute passed away peacefully February 8th 2015. He was the oldest child born to David and Lucille (Thompson) Suprise on December 10th 1936. Ray went into the army immediately after his graduation in 1955. He served in Japan for 2 years and also played football when he was overseas. He was honorably discharged in 1959.
    On November 5th 1966 he was united in marriage to Linda Main. He worked at different jobs as an industrial electrician until he made his career with Voith as a millwright until his retirement in 1999.One of Ray's long time loves was his hobby farm He raised sheep, pigs and horses He brought this love of his to his children by being involved in 4 H. As his family got older one of their things to do was to watch the Packer games together. In addition to his wife Linda (Main) Suprise. Ray is survived by four children, James Suprise (Holly Hurley), Terri (Kevin) Protsman, Jonathan (Dawn) Suprise, and Joseph (Jenny) Suprise and nine grandchildren, Ashten Suprise, Spencer Protsman, Abby Protsman, Marcus Protsman, Bryanna Seidl (Brandon Moder) Alyssa Surprise, Jared Surprise, Issiah VanderPas, and Brayden Cline.
    He is further survived by seven sisters, Jim Hillsberg, Janice (Art) Van Asten, Gail (William) Sphoer, Gloria Riehl, Doris (William) Herminath, Carol (Wayne) Fisher, Regina (Philip) Zuleger, Sherri (Art) Schuh. Further survived by Keith (Helen) Main, Mary-Lou Hooyman-Dorn, Joyce Plugger, Gene (Karen) Main, Donna Main, James Main, and Sally Piechoki.

    Laverne "Sis" M. Hillsberg, age 73, of Larsen passed away peacefully on March 7, 2011 at home with her husband and family by her side.
    She was born February 4, 1938, daughter of David and Lucille (Thompson) Suprise.
    On February 2, 1957 she married James Hillsberg at St. Dennis Catholic Church in Shiocton.
    Sis was employed at Miller Electric until her retirement.
    She enjoyed crocheting, needlepoint, cooking, baking and working out in the garden. She had been a member of the Drifters snowmobile club in Larsen for many years.
    The most important thing to her was time spent with her family. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandma, great grandma, and sister.
    In addition to her husband Jim, she is survived by four children: Helen Peterman, Fremont, Donald Hillsberg, Larsen, David Hillsberg, Wild Rose, Bonnie (Steve) La Dow, Oneida; grandchildren: Mandi (Grant) Goodness, Molly Peterman, Brianna Hillsberg; two great grandchildren: Addison and Macy; two step grandchildren: Scott and Shannon La Dow.
    She is further survived by a brother Raymond (Linda) Suprise, Shiocton; seven sisters: Janice (Art) VanAsten, Wild Rose, Gail (William) Spoehr, Kaukauna, Gloria (Les) Riehl, Binghampton, Doris (William) Herminath, Shiocton, Carol (Wayne) Fischer, Sherwood, Regina (Philip) Zuleger, Appleton, Sheryl (Art) Schuh, Iron River.     She was a warm and loving aunt to all the nieces and nephews in the family.
    Sis was preceded in death by her father; a brother Ronald (Kay) Suprise; three brothers-in-law: Eugene (Arlene) Hillsberg, Jerry Hillsberg, LeRoy Frost.

    Carlton "Bud" Suprise, age 71, Shiocton died on Friday, October 04, 2013, due to a courageous battle with cancer. Bud was born on August 1, 1942, in Town of Deer Creek, (Outagamie County), son of the late George and Bernice (Lettman) Suprise. On October 26, 1963, he was united to Sharon Jean Ritchie. She preceded him in death in 2010. They lived in Shiocton and raised five children there. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and visiting with family and friends. He also enjoyed home football games and Friday fish fry's.
    He is survived by his children: Robert; Jim; Lisa (Mark) Fravert; Brian (Dana); and John (Stacy); his siblings, Shirley (John) Beyers; Kathy (Ben) Young; Linda (Ray) Widder and Kevin Suprise.     Don Hillsberg, age 58, of Larsen, died at home on Sunday, September 3, 2017. He was born October 9, 1958, to James and Laverne "Sis" (Suprise) Hillsberg. Don was a carpenter by trade and could build anything. Each of his siblings has evidence of his amazing carpentry skills in their homes, as do many of his friends and customers. He loved cooking and gardening, growing everything you can imagine, canning what he grew, and also making his own wine. Don enjoyed raising animals, hunting and fishing, and a laid back style of living.
    Don was a good father and brother, and enjoyed being a new grandfather. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brianna Immel-Hillsberg and Jerred Friday; grandson, Jace; two sisters and a brother, Helen Peterman, Dave Hillsberg, Bonnie (Steve) La Dow; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, many good friends, and his dog, Duke.
    Preceding Don in death were his parents, Jim and Sis Hillsberg.
    Per Don's wishes cremation has taken place and a private gathering of family and friends was held.
