    Appleton Man Dies at 99
    One of the oldest men in Appleton, August J Fuhrman, 99, of 2136 W Wisconsin Ave., died Sunday. He was a native of Germany.
    He had farmed for 55 years 1-1/2 miles south of Kaukauna before retiring. Fuhrman was a member of Trinity Evangelical
    Lutheran Church, Kaukauna. Survivors are two sons, two daughters, four grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.
    Visitation will be from 3 p.m. today until funeral services at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Valley Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery.

    Obituary:
    FRANK HENRY FUHRMANN, 86, of 411 Columbus Ave., Brillion, a retired Calumet county farmer, died Friday afternoon at his home following a short illness.
    He was born in Germany, Oct. 11, 1875, the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Fuhrmann and was married at Reedsville May 29, 1906 to Paulina Seehafer. They operated a farm in the town of Rantoul until 1945 when they retired and moved to Brillion. Mr. Fuhrmann was a member of Trinity Lutheran church, Town of Rantoul.
    Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Mrs. Theodore (Lillie) Krepline and Mrs. Wilmer (Holdina) Dallmann, bout of R. 2, Brillion and Mrs. Clarence (Rose) Lau, R. 1, Reedsville; a brother, August Fuhrmann, R. 1, Kaukauna, 11 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
    Two sisters and a brother preceded him in death.
    Funeral services will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church with the Rev. Edgar Greve, pastor officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

    TOWN OF KAUKAUNA MAN
    DIES IN MICHIGAN CITY
    Kaukauna - Albert Fuhrmann. 25,son of Mr. and Mrs. August Fuhrmann, town of Kaukauna, died at 5:30 Sunday morning in Detroit, Mich., from pneumonia. The body arrived at Kaukauna Monday afternoon. Funeral services will be held at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon from the young man's home and at about 2 o'clock fron Trinity Lutheran church, with the Rev. Paul Oehlert in charge. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
    Fuhrmann was born on Sept. 10, 1907, in the town of Rantoul, Calumet co. He left Kaukauna during the early part of October of last year and went to Detroit. Mich., where he was employed in the Buick manufacturing
    plant. He is survived by two sistors, Ella and Cora, and two brothers, John and Leo, all of this city.

    Wallace "Wally" H. Fuhrman, 82, Cecil, passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2009. Wally was born on April 12, 1927, to the late Henry and Gertrude (Bloedorn) Fuhrmann in Manitowoc County. Wally served in the United States Navy. On June 6, 1947, he married Rose Thomas in Hilbert. Wally owned and operated a TV and antenna business in the Appleton area for 50-plus years. He was a former Lions Club member.
    He is survived by his wife, Rose Fuhrmann, Cecil; a daughter, Nancy (Tim) Spang, Green Bay; a son, James (Lori) Fuhrmann, Delafield; three grandchildren, Karri Glisch, Justin Spang, Jason Fuhrmann; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Norbert (Jean) Fuhrmann, Appleton.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; grandsons, Christopher Spang and Mike Glisch.
    Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil, with the Rev. Ronald Raddatz officiating. Family and friends may call on Monday at Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil, from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Zastrow Funeral Home in Cecil is assisting the family.

    Norbert Roy Fuhrmann, age 83, passed away unexpectedly on Friday evening, March 30, 2012, at the Appleton Medical Center, good naturedly harassing any staff members who had the misfortune of coming into view. Norb came into the world in Appleton on October 26, 1928 after his parents, the late Henry and Gertrude (Bloedorn) Fuhrmann inexplicably drove the 20 miles into town from their home in Hilbert. He completed his high school education at Appleton High School and served briefly in the National Guard. On August 9, 1958, Norb joined the abundant Riehl clan by marrying the former Jean Riehl at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Appleton. As a young man, he worked briefly at both Kimberly Clark and Miller Electric, but made his profession as a painter and interior decorator as the owner of Fuhrmann Decorating. He was also a member of the local Model A Club and spent many hours speaking colorfully to his 1929 Model A Ford. However, he is probably best known for his sense of humor. His aptitude for never-quite-appropriate jokes gave him an uncanny ability to make his wife and family uncomfortable in social situations. In addition to his lively word choice and occasionally (?) poor comedic judgment, he valued his time with family and friends, haunting local eateries and affectionately terrorizing the family cat.
    Norbert is survived by his wife: Jean Fuhrmann of Appleton; three sons: Craig Fuhrmann of Appleton; Kelly (Karah) Fuhrmann of Death Valley, California and their daughter Kelbi and daughter-to-be Kenzy; and Chad (Adrienne) Fuhrmann of Appleton and their son Ivan; a sister-in-law: Rose Fuhrmann of Cecil; and many brothers and sisters-in-law: James (Judy) Riehl, Leo (Judy) Riehl, Nancy (Rudy) Plach, Cathy (Jerry) Puls, Louis Riehl, Lois (Bob) Volkman, Steven (Bev) Riehl, Arlene Riehl, Gloria Riehl, Carol Riehl, Pat Riehl, Verna Riehl, and Mark Stapel. There are also many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends. Norbert was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Jeanne (nee Steinfest) and infant daughter, a brother Wallace Fuhrmann, and in-laws Paul (Lois) Riehl, Jerry Riehl, Leonard Riehl, Wes Riehl, Les Riehl, Sharon Stapel, Danny Riehl, Thomas Riehl, and Keith Riehl.
    The Christian Funeral for Norbert will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at ST. MATTHEW EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH, 129 S. Mason Street, Appleton, with Rev. Thomas Mielke officiating. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park. Friends may call at the Wichmann Fargo Funeral Home, Appleton on Tuesday evening from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM and again Wednesday at the church from 10:00 AM until the time of the service.     Lawrence Jandrey, age 87, of Kaukauna, passed away on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Cherry Meadows. He was born on July 30, 1926 in the Town of Rantoul, the son of the late Charles and Minnie (Wunrow) Jandrey. On June 19, 1976, Larry married Lucina (Hartjes) Kerkhoff at St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Kaukauna. He was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and the Johnston-Blessman Post #38 American Legion. Larry served his country in the U.S. Army. He was employed as a steamfitter and pipefitter at many businesses in the area. Larry belonged to the Plumbers & Steamfitters Local 400. He enjoyed fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family.
    Larry is survived by his wife Lucina; children: Larry Jr. Jandrey, Ron (Kaye) Jandrey, Tim (Janine) Jandrey, Major Bruce Jandrey USAF, retired, Nancy (Daniel) Appleton, Roger (Kathie) Kerkhoff, and Gary (Ginger) Kerkhoff; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings: Lorraine Dickert (Larry's twin sister), Donald (Muriel) Jandrey, Doris Jandrey, and William (Cheryle) Jandrey; and sisters-in-law: Janice, Shirley, and Sophia Jandrey. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Larry was preceded in death by his first wife Audrey, brothers Glenroy, Charles, and Eugene Jandrey; and brother-in-law Willard Dickert.
    The funeral service for Larry will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 28, 2014 at GOOD SHEPHERD LUTHERAN CHURCH, 2220 E. College Avenue in Appleton. Rev. Martin E. Koeller and Rev. Timothy Seabaugh will be officiating. Interment will take place at Highland Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 am until the time of service.     Denver C. Lau, age 64, of Brillion, passed away at his home on Tuesday, March 3, 2009, with his family by his side after a courageous eight month battle with cancer. Denver was born on February 20, 1945, in the Town of Rockland, son of the late Clarence and Rose (Fuhrman) Lau. He married Jan Kiekhaefer on August 7, 1966. Denver worked for the Brillion Iron Works for 43 years before retiring. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, fishing, walking his dog Bailey, shaking dice with the boys, and he was an avid Brewers and Packers fan.
    Denver is survived by his wife Jan; his children: Todd (Jody) Lau, Terry (Shelly) Lau, and Tanya (Todd) Boettcher; his grandchildren: Amber Lau, Jenna Schomburg, Avery Schomburg, Max Lau, Justin Bastian and Brady and Marlie Boettcher. He is also survived by brothers: Harland (Darlyne) Lau, Jerome (Diane) Lau; sisters: Eunice (Marvin) Loppnow, Gloria (Merlin) Robley, and Sue Kiel (Bob Siehr); two sisters-in-law: Gloria Jensen and Donna (Bill) Foytik; and a brother-in-law, Gary Kiekhaefer (fiancee Ann Borchardt).
    Denver was preceded in death by his step-father, Wilmer Ahrens; mother and father-in-law, Martin (Verna) Keikhaefer; a brother-in-law, Bernie Jensen; and three nephews: Josh Moede, Rick Loppnow, and Jeffery Robley.
    Funeral services for Denver will be held at 6 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2009, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Rantoul, with Rev. Timothy Benninghoff officiating. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. until the time of services. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery in Rantoul. Wieting Funeral Home in Brillion is assisting the family with arrangements.

    Nancy A. Spang, 61, Ashwaubenon, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 after a long battle with kidney cancer. She was born October 6, 1952 in Appleton to Wallace and Rose (Thomas) Fuhrmann. On September 9, 1978, she married Timothy J. Spang in Green Bay.
    Nancy cherished and loved her family very much. She was attending nursing school to become a medical assistant. She owned and operated Bradberry Corner for over 16 years and was very talented in doing crafts. She was involved with Habitat for Humanity and loved working with children.
    Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Timothy; her mother, Rose Fuhrmann of Cecil; a daughter, Karri Glisch of Green Bay; a son, Justin Spang of Cecil; and one brother, James (Lori) Fuhrmann. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, godchildren, other relatives and many dear friends.
    She was preceded in death by her father, Wallace; her son, Christopher and a son-in-law, Mike Glisch.
    Visitation will take place from 4 to 7 pm, Friday, January 3, 2014 at Lyndahl Funeral Home, 1350 Lombardi Avenue. Visitation will continue at Ascension Lutheran Church, 2911 Libal Street, on Saturday, January 4, from 2:30 to 3:45 pm with the funeral service at 4 pm with Rev. Lori Swenson officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park in Appleton.
