Obituary:
Ella Ahrens, 85, of Kimberly passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at home. Ella was born on April 1, 1926 to Anton and Lucia (VanDunn) Ermers in Kimberly and she graduated from Kimberly High School in 1944. She married Reginald Ahrens on May 7, 1949 at Holy Name in Kimberly and together they spent 63 wonderful years together. Ella was a secretary at Holy Name School for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, jigsaw puzzles, reading, playing cards and volunteering at church. She also enjoyed bowling and biking, but most of all she loved spending time with her granddaughter Stephanie. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish.
Ella is survived by her husband Reginald, one son; Steven (Dawn) Ahrens of Appleton, a granddaughter; Stephanie, a sister; Mary Hein, a brother; Frank Ermers, two sisters-in-law; Erla Ermers and Esther Ermers, "special grand kids" Jason and Katie, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, and her siblings; George, Teddy, Dorothy, Tony, John, and Martin.
The funeral liturgy for Ella will be held on Friday, August 19, 2011 at 12:00 PM at the HOLY SPIRIT PARISH (600 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly). Entombment will be in the Highland Memorial Park. A time of visitation will be held on Thursday, August 18, 2011 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at the Jansen Fargo Funeral Home and on Friday from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
