    Obituary:
Marcella Laura (Huebner) Grosnick, age 91, of Appleton, our mom, our grandmother and our great-grandmother, fell asleep in arms of our Savior, on Friday, August 15, 2014. Her soul is forever safe with the Lord. Through faith in Jesus she is God's child forever. Her sins have been forgiven by the blood of the Lamb, Jesus. Her body now waits for the great Resurrection Day when Jesus returns. On that day, Jesus will raise her body and change it to be like His body, a glorified body, which will never die but live in the mansions of heaven forever. What a comfort this is to us, her family, whom she taught these truths.
Marcella Laura Huebner was born on October 3, 1922 to Frederick, Sr. and Margaret (Missling) Huebner on the family farm in rural Hortonville, Wisconsin.
Marcella became a child of God and heir of everlasting life through the washing of Holy Baptism on November 5, 1922, at the family home in the Town of Ellington, rural Hortonville by Pastor Gustav E. Boettcher.
Marcella attended Bethlehem Lutheran School in Hortonville where she was instructed and confirmed in her Baptismal faith on March 21, 1937, by Pastor Gustav E. Boettcher. At her confirmation she received the memory verse - Matthew 28:20: "Lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the world."
During the Second World War Marcella and her sister, Elleanor, helped with the war effort by moving to Milwaukee to work in an armament factory. After the war Marcella worked at Lawrence College in Appleton. In later years Marcella worked at the Toy Factory in Hortonville, as a cook at the New London Hospital and, until her retirement, as head cook at St. Joseph's Nursing Home in New London.
On March 1, 1946, Marcella was blessed by God to be united in marriage with Erwin A. M. Grosnick at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church of Hortonville by Pastor Harold Wicke. The Lord was with Marcella and Erwin and blessed the life they shared with over 43 years together as husband and wife - until God called Erwin to himself on April 5, 1989.
Marcella and Erwin farmed together at several locations over the years - the longest time being spent at the farm north of Medina. In 1979, they moved to the little yellow house on Nash Street in Hortonville where Marcella would live until 2005 when she made her home with her son, Roger, in Oak Grove (rural Juneau), Wisconsin.
On July 28, 2008, Marcella took up residence at the Appleton Health Care Center, where she was living when the Lord called her to himself.
Marcella was a longtime and faithful member of Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church of Hortonville. She served the Lord through the congregation in various ways, including being a longtime member of the Ladies Aid and the Lutheran Woman's Missionary Society of the congregation, as well as being a part of the "team" to help assemble the church bulletins and newsletters. Marcella had loved her gardens and took great pleasure in planting and tending her flowers and vegetables. She dearly loved her children and grandchildren - who were her pride and joy as anyone could tell simply by listening to her brag about the "kids".
Marcella is survived by two sons: Rev. Roger A. Grosnick of Oak Grove (rural Juneau), Wisconsin and Danny E. (Karen) Grosnick of Menasha. She is also survived by two grandchildren: Stacey Grosnick and Nicholas (Kristin) Grosnick - both of Appleton; and a great-grandson, Harrison Grosnick of Appleton. She is further survived by three sisters: Elleanor Zimmer, Appleton; Alice (G.William) Kuehnel and Dorothy (James) McVey, both of Florida; two brothers: Fred (Carol) Huebner, Hortonville and Robert (Arlene) Huebner, Appleton, and by a sister-in-law, Mary Ann Huebner, Oshkosh, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
So it was on August 15, 2014, that Marcella Laura (Huebner) Grosnick was called from this life to the immortality of heaven at the age of 91 years, 10 months and 12 days.
Preceding Marcella in entering the mansions of eternal glory were her husband - Erwin, her parents, her brothers, Donald Huebner in childhood and Harold Huebner in 2003; her sisters Grace Huebner in infancy and another sister at birth. She was also preceded in death by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Donald Zimmer, Walter & Laverne Grosnick, Alfred & Leona Luedtke, and Reuben & Pearl Spiegelberg, and a nephew, Larry Luedtke.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at 11:00 a.m at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Hortonville with Rev. Ralph Rosenberg officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran School would be appreciated.
Marcella's earthly remains will be entombed following this service at the Highland Memorial Park, Star of Hope Mausoleum, Appleton, to await the return of the Lord Jesus on the Last Day, when our Savior will raise from the dead all who have lived in the world an take all those who trusted in Jesus for the forgiveness of sins into His eternal presence in heaven where there is fullness of joy and pleasures forevermore.
