    Obituary:
On Friday, April 6th, 1928, Peter Wolf, a veteran of the civil war and a highly respected citizen, died at his home in the town of Woodville at the advanced age of 86 years. The deceased was born in Germany in 1842 and in 1852 came to the United States with his parents who located in Waukesha county. There he grew to young manhood and when the civil war broke out he offered his services to his adopted country, enlisted in Company H of the Fourth Wisconsin Calvary and served three years, until his discharge on May 28th, 1866. In 1867 with other members of the family he came to Calumet county and purchased a tract of land in the town of Woodville where he resided until he retired from active farm work and moved to the village of Brillion. After the death of his second wife, some four years ago, he returned to the farm to make his home with his son Ferdinand, who had taken over the homestead.
Peter Wolf was recognized as a man of character, honorable and upright as a citizen and devoted to family and friends. He was a frequent visitor to this city and enjoyed a large acquaintance who were always glad to meet him. He was one of the few surviving member of the Civil war and until ill health prevented, was a frequent visitor at the meetings of the Grand Army Post.
He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John L. Maile of Brillion and five sons, Fred and Andrew of Brillion, William, Ferdinand and Edward in the town of Woodville. The funeral was held on Monday from the Lutheran church in the town of Woodville.

Peter married Mertz, Amelia Abt 1869. Amelia was born Abt Apr 1853, At Sea; died 23 Apr 1888, Woodville, Calumet, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet]
