Obituary:
Edith L. Pfund, 97, Kaukauna, passed away on Saturday morning, Nov. 29, 2008, at Kindred Hearts in Kaukauna. Edith was born on Nov. 22, 1911, in the Town of Woodville, daughter of the late Peter and Louise (Maas) Timm. On Nov. 15, 1934, Edith was united in marriage to William Pfund at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Woodville. The couple enjoyed 50 years of marriage prior to William's death in 1985. The couple owned Sherwood Cheese Factory from 1929-1966. Edith also worked for Kaukauna Community Hospital until retiring in 1977. Edith enjoyed baking cookies for the neighborhood kids and her grandchildren. Edith was the oldest living member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church where she was a member of the Ladies Aid and the Altar Guild.
Edith is survived by a daughter, Sandra Hetzel of Port Washington; a son, William (Ruth) Pfund of Kaukauna and their family: William "Chris" (Jill) Pfund and their daughter Amelia of Janesville; Ryan (Sandra) Pfund and their children: Matthew, Zachary, and Alyssa of Jackson, WI; Robert (Julie) Pfund and their daughter Sophia of Combined Locks; Aprille (Dan) Wagner and their daughter Leah of Oshkosh. Edith is further survived by a sister-in-law, Germaine Timm of Menasha; nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Preceding her in death were her husband, three sisters and brothers-in-law; Lillian (Harry) Merbach, Dorothy (Herbert) Krueger, Maysel (Paul) Kielgas; two brothers and a sister-in-law, Ralph (Frieda) Timm, and Clarence Timm.
Funeral services for Edith will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 2, 2008, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, N9125 Military Rd., Kaukauna (Town of Woodville) with the Rev. Paul Fanning officiating. Entombment will be in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 11:30 a m. until the time of services.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Edith's name is being established for St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, Woodville.
The Boettcher Family Funeral Home in Kaukauna, 920-766-2099, is assisting the family with arrangements.
