    Alma L. (Boettcher) Schweitzer, age 91, of New Holstein and formerly of Brillion, died unexpectedly on Tuesday evening, December 4, 2012. She was the former Alma Snortum, born March 31, 1921 in Chilton, daughter of the late Albert & Anna (Jannsen) Snortum.
    She attended school in Gravesville.
    On June 28, 1941 she married Wilmer Boettcher in Chilton, Together they farmed in the Town of Maple Grove where they raised their five children.
    Wilmer preceded her in death on December 13, 1981.
    On August 3, 1984, Alma married Leo Schweitzer.
    Leo preceded her in death on November 23, 1991.
    Alma worked at Aluminum Specialties, Chilton, Ariens Co. and Larson Canning both of Brillion and also was a waitress at area restaurants in Brillion.
    She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, New Holstein.
    Alma enjoyed making latch hook rugs, crocheting, going dancing, traveling and shaking dice with her lady friends.
    Survivors include her children: Nancy (Mike) Moschel, Chilton, Russell (Elda) Boettcher, Oregon, WI, Barbara (David) Kalland, Stoughton, Jacalyn (Kevin) Tews, Pulaski, twelve grandchildren, twenty three great grandchildren and eight great great grandchildren. She is further survived by a special family, Dave & Cathy Cherney & their families, two sisters; Geneva Lefeber & Alberta Maroszek, sisters-in-law, Eva Snortum & Alice Snortum, brother-in-law, Arvie Boettcher, sister-in-law, Virginia Boettcher, Leo Schweitzer's family, other relatives and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, one son, Lyle Boettcher, one great grandson, three brothers and one sister.
    Funeral services for Alma will be held at 12:30 pm on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at Zion Lutheran Church, New Holstein with Pastor Dennis Sundell officiating.
    Burial will take place in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Brillion.
    Family and friends may call at the church on Saturday from 11:00 am until 12:15 pm when we will have brief family rites.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Zion Lutheran Church.
    Meiselwitz-Vollstedt Funeral Home, Kiel is assisting the family.
