Obituary:
Roger L. Worm, Age 81 of New London, died at New London Family Medical Center on Saturday, August 24, 2013. Roger was born in New London, Wisconsin on July 19, 1932, the son of Karl and Amy (Sommer) Worm. Roger served the U.S. Military by completing a tour of duty during the Korean War. He worked his entire working career at Kimberly Clark, retiring at the age of 55.
Roger was very active his entire life; playing dart ball and softball well into his 60's. He was an avid reader, a loyal Chicago Bears and Cubs fan, loved spirited conversations, and had a talent for playing cards, especially cribbage and poker. Roger's life long passions were duck hunting, gardening and fishing; always paying it forward by giving away his "catches" and the produce he grew.
Roger is survived by his three sons, Mark (Brenda) Worm, Gerald Worm (Renee), and Glen Worm (Peggy); five grandchildren, Heather Worm, Jennifer Worm, Kyle Worm, Eric Worm, and Carina Worm; and two great-grandchildren, Damyen Worm and Trent Worm. He is further survived by his brother, Marly (Sandy) Worm; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents; life-long companion, Charlotte Seager; and brother, Edward (Karen) Worm.
A memorial service for Roger will be held at 12:00 noon on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, 209 W. Cook St, New London. Family and friends are invited to visit at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
