Philip V. Westenberger, age 67, of New Holstein, died on Wednesday, March 25, 2009, at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice in Sheboygan Falls. Philip was the owner and operator of "Phil's Electrical Service." He dedicated his life to his work and thoroughly enjoyed the time he could spend with the people he served. Phil always appreciated the extra perks his job provided: pies, cookies, dinner, and prayers, just to name a few.
He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, the New Holstein American Legion, and was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed Sturgeon spearing, downhill skiing, and deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Monica; children: Doug Westenberger and special friend LeeAnn Bennetts of Mercer, WI; Karen Westenberger of Green Bay; Donna Westenberger of New Holstein; and Tammy (Steve) Riebe of Kiel; three grandchildren: Alex, Eric, and Sara Riebe; three brothers: Charles (Marion) Westenberger, Paul Westenberger, and Robert Westenberger; sister, Diane Genal; sisters-in-law: Romunda (Donald) Van Asten, Janet (Don) Hansen, and Fay Portmann.
Philip was preceded in death by his brother, Marvin "Dunk" Westenberger; nephew, Robert "Bobby" Westenberger; sisters-in-law: Allison Westenberger and Helen Westenberger; and brothers-in-law: Carl "Butch" Genal, Allan Portmann, and Donald Diedrich.
Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2009, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in New Holstein. Friends may call at Wieting Family Funeral Home in Chilton from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2009, and on Saturday at church from noon to 1 p.m. when the service will be held. A memorial service will be held Friday evening at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in the name of Philip V. Westenberger.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Sharon S. Richardson nurses and staff for all their loving care and support shown to Phil and the entire family.
