    Obituary:
    LaVerne M. Jentz, 85, of Appleton, passed away on Monday, December 1, 2014 at Cherry Meadows Hospice. LaVerne was born on March 29, 1929 on the family homestead, in the town of Holland, in Brown County. She was the daughter of Albert and Minnie (Spietz) Bohrtz. She enjoyed working on the farm and after graduation from Wrightstown High School; she moved to Appleton and was employed at Home Mutual Insurance (Secura). On May 27, 1950, she was united in marriage to Melvin "Bud" Jentz, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Wrightstown. They had three children; Daniel, Debra and David. Bud preceded her in death on February 6, 1976. Throughout the years she was employed as a secretary-bookkeeper at several companies, and retired in 1995 after 25 years at Schumacher, Romenesko & Associates. She was a long-time member of Zion Lutheran Church. LaVerne enjoyed getting together with her family for holidays and birthdays, and was very proud that all seven grandchildren were college graduates. She was a long-time fan of the Milwaukee Braves, Brewers and Packers. LaVerne also enjoyed country music, reading, Sudoku, and bowling in leagues for over 60 years. She was especially proud of her 250 game at the age of 78. LaVerne also enjoyed spending time in the yard, taking care of flowers, birds, and walking her dog Sparky.
    LaVerne is survived by her children; Dan (Pam) Jentz, Debbie (Mark) Truyman, and David (Christi) Jentz, by her seven grandchildren; Jacob Lison, Andrew Jentz, Allison (Grant) Running, Eric Truyman, Deanna Truyman, Elliot Jentz, and Paul Jentz, and by her sister Dorothy Peterson and sister-in-law Mabel Bohrtz, she is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her brother Alvin Bohrtz, and brother-in-law Charles Peterson.
    Funeral Services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014 at 11:00 AM at Zion Lutheran Church 912 N. Oneida St. Appleton, with Rev. Lloyd Luedeman officiating. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Friday, December 5, 2014 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the CHURCH.
    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

    LaVerne married Jentz, Melvin "Bud" 27 May 1950, Wrightstown, Brown, Wisconsin, USA. Melvin died 6 Feb 1976. [Group Sheet]
