    Obituary:
    Elmer H. Zirbel, 92, Green Bay, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, at a local nursing home. He was born Oct. 10, 1912, in De Pere to the late Alex and Hattie (Halfrisch) Zirbel. On June 5, 1936, he married Esther Wegner in De Pere; she preceded him in death on Jan. 15, 1998. Elmer retired after 30 years from Fort Howard Paper Company. He then started his own wallpaper and painting business, which he found most satisfying. His hobbies included playing dartball, golf, shuffleboard, and gardening.
    Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Edith and Darvin Nagel, Seymour; Janet and George Francies, Sobieski; 12 grandchildren, Mary (Mike) Balskus, De Pere; Nancy (Steve) Cosby, Oklahoma City, Okla.; John (Gwen) Nagel, Menasha; Margaret (Mark) Waage, Green Bay; David (Kristen) Nagel, Rochester, Minn.; Mark (Jill) Severson , Brookfield; Joel (Lorna) Severson, Sobieski; Glen (Donna) Severson, Green Bay; Stephen (Phyllis) Francies, Green Bay; Renee (Heinz) Florin, Indiana; Cathy (Steve) Wagner, Kansas; Rebekah Stefanek, Green Bay; numerous great- grandchildren; two brothers, Roland Zirbel and Gerhold (Laverne) Zirbel; and three sisters, Cora Lemke, Helen Saenger, and Marie Meyer.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther; parents; one granddaughter, Gloria; one sister, Mildred Wegner; and three brothers, Henry Zirbel, Bob Zirbel, and Walter Zirbel.
    Friends may call from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday, July 14, 2005, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1024 Shawano Ave., (due to road construction, take Mason St. to Oneida to Shawano Ave.), where the funeral service will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev.     Roland R. Zirbel, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 14, 2007, at his home in Manitowoc after a brief illness.
    Roland was born March 27, 1920, in the town of Glenmore, son of the late Alex and Hattie Hallfrisch Zirbel. He married Mildred Becker on April 15, 1944, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Maribel. She preceded him in death on Sept. 5, 2000. Roland farmed in the Maribel area until 1967 at which time Roland and Mildred moved to Manitowoc. Roland worked at Burger Boat as a finish carpenter until his retirement in 1985. Roland was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, mosaics, and his yard sales.
    Survivors include his five daughters and their husbands, Joan and Don Pahl, Maribel and their children, Julie and Rex Redmon, West Bend, Jeffrey and Kim Pahl, Newton; Suzanne Diestler, Hartford and her children, April Russ, Rochester, Minn., Audrey and Curtis Hornada, Hutisford; Shirley and Carl Kreie, Manitowoc and their daughter, Kristy Kreie, Manitowoc; Laurel and Daniel Fagan, Manitowoc and their children, Alison and Jonathan Henson, Austin, Minn., Patricia Fagan, Manitowoc, Thomas Fagan, Manitowoc; Anne and Russell Vogt, Manitowoc and their children, Amanda and Bjorn Hansen, Manitowoc, Jonah Vogt, Milwaukee, Liesl Vogt and Josiah Vogt, both of Manitowoc; nine great-grandchildren, Rachel Redmon, Cyana, Rilend, and Rayna Russ, Fiona and Quinten Hornada, Dakota Fagan, Kira and Logan Hansen; one brother and sister-in-law, Gerhold and Laverne Zirbel, Shirley; three sisters, Cora Lemke, Sobieski; Helen Saenger, De Pere; Marie Meyer, Sun Prairie; two brothers-in-law and sister-in-law, Harvey and Verna Becker, Maribel; Elroy Lemke, Greenleaf; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive.

    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Jan. 19, 2007, at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, 916 Pine St., Manitowoc. The Rev. Paul Schossow will officiate with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery. Relatives and friends may call at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m.
    Memorial donations would be appreciated for Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church or Manitowoc Lutheran High School.

    Gerhold C. Zirbel, "Gelly", 92, De Pere, passed away peacefully on Feb. 20, 2017 surrounded by his family. Gelly was born in Green Bay on May 9, 1924 to the late Alex and Hatti (Halfrisch) Zirbel. On May 26, 1945 he married LaVerne Pautz at St. John Lutheran Church in Maribel. They farmed on the Zirbel Dairy Farm and were blessed with eight children. He was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, serving as President for many years; President of the Shirley Feed Co-op and active NFO member. Gelly and LaVerne enjoyed traveling across the country in their RV.

    Sandra "Sandy" Olp, 67, Wayside died Sunday, October 30, 2011, at home with her loving family at her side. She was born June 11, 1944, in Green Bay, WI to the late Robert and Eugenia (Borchardt) Zirbel, Sr. Sandy married Norman Olp on October 26, 1963, at Zion Lutheran Church, Wayside. Sandy was a graduate of Reedsville High School, class of 1962. She was a former employee of Leverenz Shoe Factory at Valders and the Ariens Company, Brillion, retiring in July 2010. Sandy was a member of Zion Lutheran Altar Guild, Bible studies and book clubs. Her favorite past time was attending all of her grandchildren's activities, especially her grandson's racing. She enjoyed gardening, reading, playing cards, canning and camping at Sandy Norm Campgrounds and COUSINS WEEKEND.

    Rose H. Lemke, 44, Morrison, with her loving family at her side was called to her maker and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, April 7, 2007, after a long courageous battle with ovarian cancer, diagnosed in June of 2002.
    Rose was born on Jan. 13, 1963, in Green Bay, to Helen (Zirbel) Saenger and the late Kenneth Saenger. She was raised in Brillion, attended Trinity Lutheran School and Church and graduated from Brillion High School with the Class of 1981. Rose was employed by Kasson Cheese, Manitowoc Milk Producers and UW Madison Hospital and Clinic until 1994 when she and her husband, Paul, moved to the family farm in Morrison.
    Rose and Paul were united in marriage on Jan. 28, 1984. They were blessed with two children, Justin, 11, and Jenna, 8, and her great canine friend, Morgan. Rose loved taking vacations with her family, boating, crafts, helping at Justin and Jenna's school and driving her convertible.
    Survivors include her husband, Paul; two children, Justin and Jenna; her mother, Helen Saenger, De Pere; one sister, Kathy Saenger, Green Bay; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Wesley (Arla) Saenger, Schofield; Bill (Jessie) Saenger, Brillion; Lee Saenger and special friend, Sherry, Jackson Hole, Wyo.; mother-in-law, Eunice Lemke, De Pere; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Fay (Robert) Boerschinger, Green Bay; Lois Leonard, Scotia, N.Y.; Julie (Don) Treichel, Kaukauna; John (Julie) Lemke, Bloomington, Ind.; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
    Rose was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Alvin Lemke and brother-in-law, Joseph Leonard.
    Friends may call after 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 11, 2007, at Zion Lutheran Church, 7395 County Road W, Morrison, until time of service. Funeral service 2 p.m. Wednesday at the church with the Rev. Randy Ott officiating. Burial in the church cemetery.
    Words cannot express our appreciation for all the efforts put forth by Dr. D. Hooguland, Milwaukee, in the last 4 years, Dr. Michael Volk and his staff at Green Bay Oncology, especially Rose. Also the 9th floor nurses, CNA's and LPN's at St. Vincent's Hospital.
    In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family. Nickel Funeral Home, assisting the family.
