    Biography:
    This biography is for Frederick Abraham, the son of John Abraham.
    John and Amelia (Haberberg) Abraham, were natives of Germany, in which country they were married, and came to the United States in 1868, settling in Winnebago county, in Nekimi township. They engaged in farming there until 1881, in which year they came to Outagamie county, settling on eighty acres of partly improved land in Dale township, one-half mile north of Medina, where Mr. Abraham died April 4, 1898, aged fifty-eight years, being buried in West Medina Cemetery. Mrs. Abraham now lives at the home of her daughter, Hannah, in Dale township, and is sixty-three years of age. Of the eleven children born to this couple, Frederick M. Abraham was the third in order of birth, and he has always resided on the home place. (See Frederich Abraham).

    Obituary:
    Charles Abraham, 70, town of Dale farmer, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at 7 o'clock this morning. He was stricken as he was about to enter his barn on the morning round of chores. Abraham was born in Germany in 1868 and came to America with his parents when he was an infant. He married and settled on a farm in the town of Dale in 1895 and farmed there since that time. He was a member of the St Paul Lutheran church of Dale. Survivors are the widow, four sons, Clarence, Hortonville; Harvey,' Milwaukee, Floyd and Gilbert, at home; one daughter, Mrs. Len Diesler,Hortonville; one brother, Fred Abraham, Medina; three sisters, Mrs. Hugo Hidde, Oshkosh; Mrs. Fred Raprager and Mrs. Clarence Haase, Medina; and five grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 Saturday afternoon at the home and at 2 o'clock at the St Paul Lutheran church of Dale. The Rev. W. F. Zink, pastor, will be in charge of the services. Burial will be in the Dale Union cemetery.

    Biography:
    FREDERICK M. ABRAHAM, one of the successful farmers and stock raisers of Dale township, who is now operating 103 acres situated in section 24, was born at Nekimi, Winnebago county, Wisconsin, March 9, 1870. His parents, John and Amelia (Haberberg) Abraham, were natives of Germany, in which country they were married, and came to the United States in 1868, settling in Winnebago county, in Nekimi township. They engaged in farming there until 1881, in which year they came to Outagamie county, settling on eighty acres of partly improved land in Dale township, one-half mile north of Medina, where Mr. Abraham died April 4, 1898, aged fifty-eight years, being buried in West Medina Cemetery. Mrs. Abraham now lives at the home of her daughter, Hannah, in Dale township, and is sixty-three years of age. Of the eleven children born to this couple, Frederick M. Abraham was the third in order of birth, and he has always resided on the home place. He was married November 25, 1898, to Miss Mina Haas, daughter of Andrew and Catherine (Marks) Haas, the former born in Baden and the latter in Hessen, Germany. They came to America as children and were married in Greenville township where they are still living, engaged in agricultural pursuits, the father being seventy-six and the mother seventy years old. Mr. Haas enlisted in 1864 in Company A, Fiftieth Wisconsin Volunteers, and was connected with that company until the close of the war. Mrs. Abraham was born December 2, 1867, the third born of a family of five children. She and Mr. Abraham have had four children: Franklin T., Ruth E., Albert and Ruby M., the latter two of whom died in infancy. Mr. Abraham carries on general farming and stock raising, markets dairy products, hogs, cattle, sugar beets and potatoes, and feeds his hay and grain except barley. He has seventy acres under the plow, all fenced with barbed and woven wire, and has his land in a high state of cultivation. In politics he is a Republican, and he and Mrs. Abraham and their children are members of the Methodist Episcopal Church of Medina. Both are firm believers in the benefits to be accrued from life insurance and each holds a policy for $1,000 in the Equitable Assurance Society of New York.

    Obituary:
    Mrs. Theresa M. Haas
    Family Heritage Home, Appleton Formerly of Dale, age 95, died in Appleton Tuesday afternoon following a short illness. She was born November 16,1879 in the Town of Black Wolf and had lived in the Town of Greenville until 1937 when she moved to Dale. Mrs. Haas is survived by a son, Harold of Dale; 3 grandchildren; and 4 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, a son and a daughter. The funeral will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Borchardt and Moder Funeral Home in Hortonville with burial in the Dale Union Cemetery. The Rev. John R. Pearson will officiate. Friends may call at the Borchardt and Moder Funeral Home after 3 p.m. Wednesday until the hour of service on Thursday.

    Merton A. Schulz, 99, Appleton, passed away surrounded by his loving family Tuesday, May 3, 2011, at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was born in the Town of Dale on October 12, 1911, to the late William and Sadie (Raprager) Schulz. Merton married Genevieve J. (Stengel) Schulz on May 19, 1936, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville. They celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this past Sunday.
    Mert grew up on the family farm and was a lifelong resident of Outagamie County. He worked for a local lumber company and then he proudly served with the Appleton Fire Department for over 24 years, retiring May 5, 1967, as Asst. Fire Chief. He was often the go to person when someone needed help or something needed fixing, particularly with his carpentry skills. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting, and playing baseball. He was an avid card player and never was one to turn down an offer to play Sheephead.
    He is survived by his wife of 75 years, Genevieve of Appleton; two children: Eugene 'Gene' (Lynnae) Schulz, Wausau, and Janice (John) Bark, Shawano; six grandchildren: Kathleen (David) Vanden Boogaard, Little Chute; Lisa (John) Towns, Mt.     Ruth E. Ruppel, age 87, of Appleton, was called peacefully to eternal life and joined her Lord and Savior on Thursday, July 31st, 2014, at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center, surrounded by her loving family and pastor.
    Ruth was born on the family farm outside of Hortonville on October 8th, 1926, to Leonard and Florence (Abraham) Diestler. She was baptized and confirmed at Bethlehem Ev. Lutheran Church in Hortonville. Ruth attended school in Hortonville and graduated from Hortonville High School. After graduating Ruth went to work at the then AAL, now Thrivent Financial, from which she retired in January 1986.
    On August 26, 1950, Ruth was united in marriage to Milton Ruppel of Dale, spending nearly 64 years together. They made their home in Appleton, where Ruth was a long time member of Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church.
    Ruth's interests included baking, gardening, sewing, playing cards, camping and traveling. Along with Milt, Ruth traveled to virtually every corner of this country and beyond, including Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean and Europe. Later in life she enjoyed golfing and spending time with family and friends at the family home on Wheeler Lake in Lakewood, WI. Ruth also enjoyed Friday night fish fries and a good happy hour but her greatest joy and happiness was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
    Ruth is survived by her husband of nearly 64 years, Milton; her children, Tom, Key West, FL and Appleton; Nancy (Robert) Korth, Appleton; grandchildren, Robert (Nicole) Korth, Depere; Michelle (Nate) Klapoetke, Wild Rose; Timothy (Brittany) Korth, Kaukauna; six great grandchildren, Landen, Easton, Brayden, Beau, Madelyn and Hailey.     Marlene E. Sommer, age 72, of Dale, passed away on Thursday, September 16, 2010, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton. She was born on June 28, 1938 in Dale, daughter of Ralph and Margaret (Sweet) Haas. On July 20, 1957, she married Duane Sommer in Dale, he preceded her in death in 1992. Marlene and Duane farmed in the Town of Dale most of their life. She was very devoted to her family and the farm. She enjoyed traveling with friends, country music and snowmobiling. She was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Dale.

    Thomas M. Ruppel, of Appleton, was called home by his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, June 1, 2016, at the age of 59, after a 2 year courageous battle with cancer. Tom was born on October 24, 1956 son of Milton and the late Ruth (Diestler) Ruppel. Tom graduated from Fox Valley Lutheran High School in 1975. He worked for Outagamie County as a Computer Programmer for 16 years before he moved to Key West Florida where he was employed by the Westin Key West Resort and Marina as a Cruise Ship Pier Security Officer. After being diagnosed of his illness, he returned to Wisconsin in 2014 to be near his family and friends. He enjoyed spending time on his boat at the marina, volunteering at the Red Cross, and helping out with the Junior Achievement Program.
    He is survived by his father Milton Ruppel, sister Nancy (Bob) Korth, Nephew Rob (Nichole) Korth, Niece Michelle (Nate) Klapoetke, Nephew Tim (Brittany) Korth, great nephews and nieces Haley McPeak, Landen and Easton Korth, Brayden and Beau Klapoetke, and Madelyn Korth.
    He was preceded in death by his mother Ruth E Ruppel.
    A Celebration of Tom's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2016, at Bethany Ev. Lutheran Church, 530 W Parkway Blvd., Appleton, WI 54911, with Pastor Mark Henke officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service.
    Tom's family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Phillips and his staff at Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology, ThedaCare Hospice, and the staff at the Bridges Health Care Center.
    Interment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
