    Biography:
    HERMAIN ZSCHAECHNER, a wide-awake and progressive citizen and one of the leading agriculturists of Greenville township, where he is the owner of a farm of 165 acres, is a native of Germany, where he was born November 24, 1842, a son of Christian and Margaret (Shstdell) Zschaechner, natives of the Fatherland who never came to the United States. He attended the schools of Kreilbar, Germany, and came to the United States in 1870, first settling in Pennsylvania, where he secured work in a tannery, continuing there one year and then removing to Grand Chute township, where he worked as a carpenter, a trade he had learned in his native country. After seven years spent there, Mr. Zschaechner sold his property and removed to the farm on which he now makes his home, his first purchase being eighty acres, to which he added eighty-five acres 18 years later. He operates this property with the assistance of his sons, and has been very successful in general and dairy farming. He has a thorough knowledge of agricultural conditions in this section, is an expert on crop location, and proves by the large crops that he raises and of which he easily disposes that he is an excellent farmer. In political matters he is a Republican, but he has not found time to engage actively in public matters. The family belongs to the Lutheran Church. On August 20, 1870, Mr. Zschaechner was married to Paulina Plueberger, who was born in the old country but married Mr. Zschaechner in America, and to this union there have been born eight children: Minnie; who resides at home; Anna, who married Gust Schneider, a resident of Minnesota; Hulda, who married Louis Becker, a Grand Chute township farmer; and Clara, Emma, Alma, Herman and Otto, all single and residing on the homestead farm.

    Obituary:
    HERMAN ZSCHAECHNEK, SR Herman Zschaechner, Sr.. 81, prominent farmer of town of Greenville, died at noon Monday at the home of his son Herman. He was born in 1842 at Graffendorf, Thuringer,Germany and came to America in 1871. He was married in 1871 to Pauline Blochberger. Decedent is survived by his widow and eight children; Mrs. Anna Schneider, Blue Earth, Minn.; Mrs. Louis Becker, Greenville; Mrs. John Heidemann, Ellington; Clara, Alma, Herman, Otto and Minna, Greenville; one brother, Henry Ellington. Funeral arrangements will be announced later.

    Miss Clara Zschaechner Shiocton, Wis. Age 82, Passed away at 3 a.m. Tuesday at the home of her brother, Otto Zschaechner, Medina after a one-month illness. She was born Dec. 12, 1879. Her brother Otto is the only survivor. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First English Lu- heran Church, Shiocton, with Pastor Louis Mielke officiating. Friends may call at the Sawyer Funeral Home, Shiocton, from noon Wednesday until noon Thursday and then at the church until time of services. Interment will be in the Greenville Emmanual Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Greenville.

She was born July 4, 1882 in the town of Greenville and lived in this community most of her lifetime. Mrs. Heideman was a member of the Most Precious Blood Cath- olic Church, New London. Surv- ivors are a daughter Mrs. Roy Wilson, Waukegan,Ill.; a son John of Rt. 2, New Lonon; a brother. Otto Zschaencher, Medi- na, Wis.; a sister. Miss Clara Zschaencher, Shiocton, Wis ; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be Monday at 9:30 a.. at the Most Precious Blood Catholic Church, New London, with burial at St. Patrick's Catholic cemetery, Stephensville. The Very Rev. Andrew Linsmeyer will officiate. Friends may call at the Kircher Funeral Home New London after 1 p.m. Sunday until time of services. Parish ros- ary at 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
